Grandthefter
Anyway, the RTW section of the forums has gone so theres no more Crackdown threads. So what better place to revive it but here, in the gaming chat, i know that someone out there has scans but i cant remember who it was. Anyway, Crackdown summed up: Platform Xbox360 Genre Action, shooting, Free Roaming Publisher Real Time Worlds Online Co-op xbox live, multiplay TBA Release Date Spring 2006 General Price TBC ESRB Rating TBC - 17+ most likely Learning Curve ? Players 1, 2 co-op. multiplay TBC You play as a member of The Agency, and elite experimental police force. Throughout the game you increase your stats, strength, ability, firearms, driving etc. Each of these will have positive feedback on your character. More strength will mean you’ll be able to toss cars and it’ll also change your characters look, making him bigger and more muscular. Your three Agency vehicles, sport car, SUV and Semi, will also change with stats, getting bigger and looking more lethal as you go. With these new abilities and higher stats you’ll find more ways of killing gang kingpins. For example, one kingpin might be at the top of a high building. You can blast your way in, shooting everybody and making your way up to the top. You can snipe them from afar, ridding you from any danger. You can drive you semi straight through the front door. Or you can find a way to scale the building and come down from the top. Not as strong as you’re last agent you made? Or maybe you’re friends have more agility stats that you? No problem, use ‘absorption’, a trick you can use to acquire your friends, or other saves, stats for a brief amount of time so you can reach that jump, or you can kill that boss that you’re just not strong enough to kill by yourself. Maybe you just want to do it co-op? Ask a friend who has the game to play over xbox live, they can join any time and for how long they want. If you just need a boost then you can easily ask them to throw you somewhere. If you need to find somewhere in the city you can both split up, all the time communicating over xbox live headset. The list is endless. Also, with the new challenge system on the xbox360 RTW has pumped this game full of different things you can do. Maybe you’re friend beat a challenge of reaching a certain point in the game, or maybe he fell to his death from one of the skyscrapers dotted around the city. All of these add up to your scorecard and add hours of replayability by trying to beat that other person. Your affect on gang members effects the whole gang itself, if you kill a certain gangs vehicle expert then they’ll be driving round in battered old cars. Each gang member has a certain role in that gang, so if you take one out it’ll be a chain reaction. Mini challenges will fill the city, racing across town, in either a car or foot if your stats are high enough. Protecting a convoy and that sort of stuff. From the looks of the pictures in the scans the agent looks different, black, white, different hair and so on so I'm sure there’s different customization available. There is also art of female agents on the 2nd page so gender customization may also be available. The game also isn’t as prone to making things disappear ala GTA. If you hit a crate with your car and continue on the game will recognise that it’s not that important and so the crate is cleaned up. If you stack crates or cars etc in order to climb to somewhere higher then the game will allow you to stray further in order to find more object to build with. The city itself concentrates more on volume than area, building up instead of out. Tall buildings will cover the city and you have to find a way to the top. No air vehicles are mentions but they might make an appearance later on. So to sum this up for all the lazy people: You play as a experimental agent, the more you drive the better you get, same with guns etc. This also affects your looks. Your vehicles also chain Killing gang members effects the whole gang in different ways Co-op play over xbox live, kill each other for fun, work together, explore etc Free-roaming city, lots of cars, pedestrians, tall buildings etc to steal, kill, destroy, climb etc Edited October 2, 2005 by grandthefter
anus
The games sounds good, any chance of it being released in the PS3 and PC? Good review, but you might want to neaten it upo a bit with some tables. No offence.
