[email protected]
I started to get real tired of stealing house for less then 1000$ per house and around. The main idea would be to give the chance to steal from other places like a electronic shop when you usualy find almost all kind of tv size/style and in numbers etc.. Having lot more item and way more money rewards in the end. I am not requesting this for someone to do it. In fact, I look foward to do it one day (when I'll be able to do it without the ... Headhache? ). Ok, the main question is... Can this idea be made for savegame compatibilities? since the idea is to add more markers on the main map for those shop and will probably require moding the interior room for them. I have little knowledge on SA files, in fact, I just (today opened for the first time the Main.scm file. I have spoted the Buglary codes (quite a nice number of coding lines). I do have programming knowledge from my college degres in computer programming which include some C++ a long time ago, some Java way more recent, VB and VB.net was also part of them. I have a really low gaming coding experience from trying to do stuff in HL, HL2 etc. I do have some basic of 3D Studio max as well. With all this knowledge, I do think I might not be ready yet to do this modification to the game, but since I do wanna see it happen if possible, I will put all the time I can on learning. In fact, if there's a way of doing small things to learn, I'd be open to them In anyway, I thank you all for reading this, even more if you reply with idea on how possible this might be or on how I can proceed to learn enough to do this. Demarest
I have little knowledge on SA files Same here. Keep that in mind as I attempt to answer your question by saying "yes, you can while continuing to use your savegames". Savegame compatibility has been my nom de plume for some time now. However, I don't even know if such expertise would be needed. For one, Burglary takes place as a mission. So long as that mission remained within the mission size limits, you could make it do whatever. Similarly, changing data within a mission wouldn't require you to start a new game anyways. Plus, adding markers to the map might actually be in the map files. So even though I can't tell you where to begin, I'm relatively certain that the possible directions you'd have to take will all remain compatible with existing saves
[email protected]
Glad to hear that. I was actualy looking foward to your imput. After reading almost the whole Coding board and seeing how you do things and everything, I thought of getting in touch with you for help was something to look foward to I will surely look into those leads and see if I can get anything to work out. Thanks a lot for the time [email protected]
