cat33
Will this be like in GTAIII and u will only have 1 safehouse per island. Or have they realeased any data on it yet?
n2gether
i believe they havent said anything on the issue yet. But we do know that we'll be starting off with the same safehouse as in GTAIII.
Fletchnuts
Where was that mentioned? I remember hearing somewhere that the safehouses would be in different locations this time around. Regarding multiple safehouses (a la vice city) I have heard nothing.
-Garrett-
In one of the earliest previews it talked about Vinnie taking you to the Portland safehouse that will one day be used by Mike and Claude Speed, but it didn't say that that safehouse would then be yours. And please don't write in red, dude. Painful.
dragonwagon93
Does anyone know which preview it was? I could have sworn at some point someone said it was PSM. I pulled out my copy of PSM (october 2005 US) and it says that in the first mission "Vinnie Cilli, takes you (or rather, you drive him) to your very own apartment." The pic on that page does show a garage that looks similar to the one from GTAIII, but its not exactly the best pic to judge it from, because its a close-up of a car that has the garage in the background. I took it as a new safehouse, since it said your very own apartment.
CarpetDweller
The October issue of PSM has got their hands on a final version of LCS. After weeks of minor details and hardly any word from the PR department, PSM finally gives out some new information. The game begins much the same as in GTA III, with you being taken (by Vinnie) to the exact same safehouse on Portland that 8-Ball took you to... i think that was the first time it was mentioned here. dragonwagon93
I guess this is just another thing we will have wait to confirm, because the pic I have in my issue of the same magazine shows a garage with a fence next to it, I just looked a little closer at it. From what I'm reading yes it starts out the same, but it is a different safehouse. If the game was out we would know, but at this point I don't own so I maybe totally wrong, I probably am. Vincent Benedetti (Ben Vercetti)
Think about it for a second please. What was the most annoying thing about saving in GTA3? One safehouse per island. What kills battery like nothing else? Driving around another 3 minutes to the safehouse. What's probably the weakest part of the PSP? Battery. Mr Killer
Some of the safehouses will probably be Toni's Restaurant and Salvatore's mafia mansion. But I don't know about Staunton or Shoreside Vale.
Joey.Leone
I think that SI will have atleast two safehouse including the one in GTA3. Im not sure where in SSV other than the GTA3 safehouse where one can be, maybe an old warehouse or something. Like Killer said, I think that Portland will have some of the Leone properties as safehouses aswell as the GTA3 safehouse.
CarpetDweller
Next up in our demo sessions, Rockstar drives Toni back safely to the mansion with the cash, job done. "His clothes are a little dirty, so we're going to head back to the safe house to change clothes before we head to another mission," and as with Vice City and San Andreas players will get to wander into an internal location and save the game. "They're not the same safe houses as GTA III, and there are detailed interiors now where they weren't before. There's a CD-ROM where you save the game. You can change clothes, there's a clothes icon. I don't know the exact number [of outfits], but it's roughly similar to Vice City, not an enormous amount, obviously nowhere near the number in San Andreas with all of the different combinations. I'd guess somewhere around ten." Source: Eurogamer
trooper
I wonder if it will be like San andreas and the clothes you choose stay on you?? I HATED that Tommy's clothes changed everytime he died!

GTA456
Like the last two GTA console games, you'll again be able to go into buildings (GTA III didn't have any interiors), but we were told that you'll now have better reasons for heading indoors. One thing that we were happy to see is a virtual closet of sorts, where you can quickly change from one outfit to the next. Once you have a particular outfit, you'll be able to access it from that point on. Granted, it isn't quite as deep as the clothing system in San Andreas, but it's definitely a step up from the limited one seen in Vice City. Another nice touch is the fact that you can actually see what's going on in the world when you look out the window, a first for the series. It warmed my heart to see the demoer shoot a clueless pedestrian from inside his safehouse. Man thats a lot! This is from one of gamespys previews of Liberty City Stories. Mph
Maybe 1-2 safehouses on each island is good, One isn't that good but atleast you have one not zero lol.

Hehj
You can see the world when you look out the window in Vice City. Yup, and in the hotel lobby in Vice City you can still shoot people outside. I once did that to a few Police officers, only to have one follow me inside, all the way up to Tommy's room. I beat him to death for trespassing. /offtopic
Kanney
Maybe with the addition of new interiors you will be able to save in other safehouses. A mansion would be nice or Tonis restaurant, or even maybe Salvatores.
