I_Will_Stab_You
I have GTA San Andreas 2.0 for PC. I tried installing a save and it doesn't work. Is the 2.0 version mod proof?
I_Will_Stab_You
I can't believe that it doesn't work on 2.0 I am pissed off. I spent 30 bucks for nothing.
DexX
you spent 30 dollars, just to try a save game? what save game anyway? if nothing else, you could, oh i don't know, play through the game like normal...
I_Will_Stab_You
I want to make a save game and then put mods in. Like Batmobile and stuff. THAT'S why I bought it. To have FUN. I beat the game normally on ps2. So I though i would actually get a normal game, but NOOOOOOO, I have to get a game where there are no mods allowed. I just have one question. Is there any way to make mods work, or is the game mod proof?
DexX
making a save game, and downloading one arent the same thing. you can "make" one, just by playing through the game, and saving it @ a savehouse, with the cars you want, in thr garage, etc. So i'll ask again, what save did you download? and do you realize that modded cars are NOT stored in save games? they are installed serparetly. if your trying to create a save game, thats easy. just save the game with the car your gonna put the batmobile over, in the garage. install batmobile, and load the game you just saved out. Moved to editing misc btw, since it doesnt belong in vehicles.
I_Will_Stab_You
I'm trying to DOWNLOAD a save game. Here is where I got it: http://gta-sa-modding.hopto.org/ Can you please walk me through EXACTLY what to do once I download it?
DexX
play the game once, and save somewhere, anywhere. the game needs to be run atleast once before any modding can be done. save the game in the first save slot. once you ran the game, go to "My Documents" on your pc, and find the "GTA San Andreas User Files" folder. open it. there should be a file called "GTASAsf1.b", thats the save game for your first slot. make a copy or a backup of that file, so you have something to go back to if you goof up, or R* changed the game. take the save you downloaded, and put it in that folder, overwriting the original (also why a backup of the original is handy - it gets replaced). load the game, and to my knowledge, that should do it. I_Will_Stab_You
Ok, I'll try that. Thanks a lot!
I_Will_Stab_You
It didn't work. I did the first mission and saved. Downloaded a save. Dragged it in the folder. Overwrote my original save. Started up SA, clicked play game, load game, clicked end of the line, and it started from the begining. It said 1992 francis airport bla bla bla. What'd I do wrong? DexX
slow down, stop posting so much, you make multiple topics for your problems and you double or triple post in each topic, just slow down man, relax a bit. take a breather. Hey ashdexx, is it possible for you to send me a save or the one u are using? Or maybe I can send you a copy of the game then u make it work then u send it back? no. infact, i just downloaded the exact same file as you did (100% save, Aug 30, yes?) and it works fine for me, so i suspect the save file isn't the issue. you type cheats in with the keyboard. you just...type them. they're words. R* might have changed something in the exe that you have. could you do me a favor, and post the filesize of your gta_sa.exe? go to where you installed the game, find the gta_sa.exe, right click on it, and go to properties. in the properties menu, go to "size" and copy/paste that number here. The only thing that would prevent a save game from loading, is something changed in the exe, or a corrupt savegame. i just tested the savegame, so that isn't it. DexX
all this talk about "2.0". does your menu look like this.. ..or does it actually have "2.00" instead of "1.01" ? i adjusted the color of the text by the way, its not normally white. I_Will_Stab_You
nope. mine's says v2.00 at the bottom...
DexX
well f*ckinay. there is no patch from R* that upgrades us past 1.01 (and damned if im buying the game again just to see the difference) hopefully not much changed from 1.01, to 2.00, although it looks like save files did. i heard somethign abou car installs on 2.0 too, this does not sound promising. GTA3Freak-2001
Oi slow down mate, you don't need to post so much just edit your posts instead of double and triple posting. Both Opius and Ashdexx have answered the best they can, it seems that this new version of the game has changes that effect alot of things in your case save games and mods. Why? We have no idea. Simon.
ashdexx, if you dont finish your part of the deal i swear ill find u, cut ur nuts off, and stuff them down ur nose. that being said, hurry up! tut tut So you have bought the the second edition of San Andreas, no? Link Seems this guy is having similar problems you may want to follow the topic to find out if he finds a solution. But just changing an exe won't work will it? I suppose it's worth a shot. Make sure you're installing the save files correctly too. Edited September 28, 2005 by simoncampbell

GTA3Freak-2001
yeah i met some guy and he let me try it out(switching the .exe) and it works!!!! MODDING HERE I GO!!!! Before anyone else asks for someone here to let them swap .exe files, its actually illegal to give out/swap the gta_sa.exe so don't bother asking. --Cole--
I suppose SanAn 2.0 must have filesize protection embedded in the exe, like how MultiTheftAuto checks for no mods. But there are original .exe's floating around, just google 'em.
DexX
no, warez is bad and actually, topic served its purpose. no more where-to-get-exe talk, locked.
