harryhynie
I bought GTA:SA Second Edtion the other day, and i bought it so i could mod stuff. Well i downloaded the SAMI program and tried to install a mod but ti locked up the game half way through the loading screen. So i tried installing it manually and the same thing happened. So i downloaded GGMM, and the same thing happened. So does anyone know what is going on? Is it because of the Hot Coffee mod was taken out, so i cant mod anything? PLEASE HELP..... GTA3Freak-2001
Yes like the patched version of the first edition you can't use certain programs that hook into the exe like trainers and other misc things. What should still work are GGMM and SAMI as they merely use the data in the SA directory to install mods, what's probably happened is that you've incorrectly installed a mod thus why the game locks up half-way through the loading screen. DexX
no it doesn't. my 1.01 patched exe runs my game perfectly, with no problems. just by switching to the 2.00 exe, it locks up about 40% through the loading process. clearly they did something to the exe that isn't good for modding. atleast from 1.00 to 1.01, the game still f*cking loaded if R* locked out modding in the new exe, then i quit. this is bullsh*t. besides, what am i supposed to tell people in the future; dont buy it? if they want the game to mod, and 2.00 is un-moddable, then the next question is where can i get 1.00, or 1.01, and that just leads to warez at this point. bad news all around. Ryan_
I can't believe R* would "punish" us modders because of the Hot Coffee issue, the whole thing was their fault to begin with. They knew it would be found out. Anyways, I say this. I am lucky to have a v1.0 GTA SA, but if they purposly (sp?) made the 2.00 version unmoddable, it is very uncool on their part. Me, and as I imagine most others, played SA to our hearts content on the PS2, so the reason for the PC version is to mod it. If they screwed around to make things hard on us, then this marks my very last purchase of GTA for any system. I will never buy a GTA again, if that is the case. And I am sure I am not alone. I mean, the game itself is ok and all, but it is almost nothing if we can't mod it, not even worth the purchase, and not even worth the bandwidth either... spaceeinstein
Everyone can unlock it. It's not Patrick's fault. Every person who downloaded the mod is at fault. Even the politicians.
Ryan_
Totally not Patricks fault. Not at all. No ones fault but R*'s. This thread should be locked
ronlivings08
you can mod the SE if you can get the v1 scripts and exe(pm me)-the exe is somehow locked so it can tell if a file has been moded or not-it took me a couple of days to figure this out too after i tried a dl'ed save game off the net
