Mafia Drive Gunner
Hey guys, I was just wondering if you had any tips on how to improve my passing game. I have had the game for a day now and I have improved. but it's pretty hard. Any tips on how to get better. I have it on All-Pro if it matters. I have played 5 games and am 3-2. Thanks in advance. -MDG
Soul Survivor
First you need to start out in rookie. then move the level up. like during season start on rookie then if you did good the go up for the next season etc... Then you need to be able to find the right QB that works with you, if you have a fast QB like Mike Vick his vision is low, if you have manning then you might me ok with the vison so i hope i helped you if i didn't then sorry. Mafia Drive Gunner
Well the thing is, I am still winning games, and I want the W-L-T to be realistic. Just for your info, I am using the Cowboys in Superstar Mode so I have Drew Bledsoe. I am starting to get the hang of it, but I am still a bit off the pace. At first I couldn't control my urge to press the L3 button, which accidentally made me use precision passing, but I seem to have that partly under control. I don't really want to change the difficulty and make it too easy for myself. Thanks anyways. Any other tips would be appreciated. -MDG
_NightHawk_
With Bledsow, stay in the pocket. Practice passing. When you're going long/fades- throw it to your reciver that has the best hops and above average catch. Then Push up and throw it and pray. When you throw crosses/slants- Look for the open reciver over the middle and throw it ahead of him(push it the direction he running) and throw it hard. When you throw Come-backs/Curls- Push Down and have your reciver hit his knees. Normally, you throw this for a short gain, or a first. When you should throw it behind your reciver- 99.99% you should throw it to a back behind him on a a flat pass or a route from the back field. RUNNING Fastbacks(Holmes)- Wait for the key block up the gut, then press the speed boost. Mix it up, Run out and inside, it keeps the D on their toes. When you go outside, push back and juke step when the DB/LB are taking an angle at you. Slower/Bigger Backs(Bettis) Run it up the Gut alot, it wears down the D, then bring the faster back and run outside. Use The Truck Stick and plow over the DBs and smaller LBers. Defence later-
Mafia Drive Gunner
Ok thanks for that. While I am waiting for the defense tips, can you fill me in on what you mean by a slower back. My superstar is 85 speed, so can you tell me what that comes under please. I have 03 04 and 05 and now 06, So I have defense pretty downpat, but any tips for 06 would be nice, -MDG

Then use The big back one if you answered yes, if you answered no, then use the quicker back one. Defence- Mix-up your blitz's use mostly your line-backers and Safetys Make sure that most of your zones are covered, like hook-to-curl(The 5-10 middle), flats )The area that runs from the hash to the side-lines about 3-6 yards deep. And your deep thirds. I like to run cover 1/2/3 with a few blitzes inbetween. I never blitz my corners, NEVER. I only allow between 130-200yards passing a game, depends on the passer/reciver. If I'm getting ran over, I run Texas(All Backers blitz+Strong safty) and hope for a huge stuff or a fumble. I also control my Mike Backer(Middle) Which is Keith Brooking. Always watch the Tackle. If he steps back, its a pass, if he shoots forward, it's a run... But always, always, always watch for draws. If you face a QB that can scramble, Run spys with your middle backer, or if you run 3-4/4-4. Your two outside backers, They'll basicly cover flats, but they'll shadow him. PM if you need more help. Mafia Drive Gunner
Wow, thanks heaps, I love the bit about watching the tackles. I will print those out and look at them while I'm playing. Thanks a lot. -MDG
_NightHawk_
Okay Speedy backs from Slower backs. Speedy Backs are the ones that are between 80 with good agility to 99. A good back for the Bigger RB is if they have Break tackle over 80. Then use forward with the Right Joystick and blast that D-Fence. Another good tip to tell runs apart are the guards. If 80% of the time they're going to run to the guard pulling spot. If they don't it's Naked, and it intended to Pull your guys the other way. And About 60% of the time, they'll run their pitches and things of the sort to the strong side(The side with the TE) So here's what I do... I adjust my line and backers to the strong side. Know, if they go Double tight, I put my line outside, and my Backers in... It normally keeps the stuff inside from going far. If it heads outside, then It's your Ends/OLB/DB's responsability to hit and rap up. PM for anymore help.
