Eclipse_nl
Hello guys, I've a question with texturing: I've modelled and textured a model in 3dsmax. Now I want to make a sign on my model like this: I don't want to edit my texture because that sign must be placed many times all over the object. Does anyone know how ik can make a texture overlay on my model? Or does anyone know an other solution? Thanks in advanced, Eclipse
dertyjerzian
The way that I personally do that is one of two things: 1: This is really easy, and probably the better of my two methods for things like this (since you've already textured). Make a plane, apply a BEND modifier and bend and stick the plane to that tower with the Attatch feature. Once it's close with no clipping etc, it doesnt need to be perfect, it will look fine and be ready for texturing, and alphas will help to cut off the edges. 2: Now, this is easy too, but you might need to retexture that entire piece before it looks proper (textures might get messed up until you re map them) Convert to editable Poly (superior tools set) and choose your CUT tool. Manipulate your viewport so that you wont accidentally make verts on the wrong sides and cut your circle into the side of the building. Done. Just apply to that area your texture and uvw unwrap it, adjusting it to fit over the texture properly. Good luck
