OOPS! i accidentally saved with a cheat activated

I let my friend play the game, and he used a cheat, and I picked it up later not knowing that he did, and i saved the game, and now it says that i have a cheat activated and it will affect my game. I am at 83% completion and i wanna get 100% without cheating! is there anyway i can erase the cheat and get to 100% without the cheat being there? HELP! I spent so much time on this game and my friend ruined it! Do i have any hope? (P.S. It's on xbox)

Even if it is a cheat that can be de-activated, you have already saved it while the cheat was in place. So you can't de-activate it. The cheat will remain. But as it is just one cheat, I don't think it will affect you in getting 100%.

But if you really wanna complete the game without cheats i would suggest starting the game again becos at 83% theres still alot more difficult things to come, but if u start again the storyline missions are really easy and you will find yourself back at 83% in no time, this exact thing happened to me and i had my progress back within a couple days.

Never use "peds riot" cheat though, it will glitch your game, even if you think you've deactivated it.

Some people experienced 99.9% completion, even though they completed everything. This was due to cheats.

 

So, you might be lucky and get off with it, or you might be un-lucky and face a new game for 100% completion.

all depends on what cheat you use

do not use ped riot cheat

i used and had to buy a new game and a new ps2

a real shame

I called the ps2 line about gta sa and asked about the madd dog mission where he jumps off the building. I nkew that it was cause of cheats but i wanted to know how i could make it all normal. She said the only way every thing will go back to completly normal is by erasing every file that i have saved and starting completly over. Because the cheats affect even other file. The cheats affect isn't applied to the other file, but the negative stuff that cokmes of the cheat does.

@hurricanivan- kind of got the gist of what you were saying but you really need to check what you type to make sure it makes sense,also i expierienced the same thing when i first found out the cheat for peds riot and used it, it corrupted all my files on my memory card.So i decided to buy 2 more memory cards and used them for all my other saves,but the one that got corupted i used for san andreas alone.

Also that 99.9% thing doesn't happen in san andreas only vice city.
