ChaosAlert
I'm gonna bump this with a new recommendation from the GTANet's Adamcs, for UK buyers that want an internal video capture, he says he is using this, and is quite happy with it: Winfast VC 100 Hmm, quite a good price that. Would I be able to add that video capture card to a laptop, or is it PC only?

I just don't think most laptops are expandable the same way as PCs.
DJDJ
the only query i have is: how do you get a video of lots of people where you want em - ie in the desert heat video (tga) theres cops by a house much like a stand-off. How is that done on the PS2? cheats?

How is that done on the PS2? cheats? Yeah, he probably had a combination of reduce wanted level (why all those cop cars were there) and then recruit anybody. MichelPS2's story vids were the best I'd seen on here, Desert Heat is still one of my favourites.
alexrw
i have a problem when capturing videos off a camcorder half the screen goes very dark are they any good video editing software out there that will make that part of the screen lighter OR is they anything i can do to stop it going dark in the first place
Mxyzptlk
To stop it from doing that change your camera from interlaced to progressive scan. Your camera and your TV are phasing out each other's fields. If you can't change the option on your camera, higher-end software like Adobe premiere pro or AVID Express can add a deinterlace filter.

Mxyzptlk
Alex the best suggestion would be to not record your TV with a camera.... maybe you can record with the camera on it's side so the scan lines for each device don't overlap in parallel. Then turn the video back right side up in editing.
alexrw
that didn't work ah well...i'll just make movie reviews and previews like "whats-it's-name" did since they hasn't been one of those in ages

alexrw
You can get a video card for as little as like $30 or 15 pounds if I remember.... i now that but...i'm not aloud to get one if someone "professional" doesn't install it for me how do you install one anyway?
Mxyzptlk
I wouldn't recommend professional installation anyway... costs more than the device itself. First you install thee software. Then you shutdown and disconnect all the cables and open the case, push your card into the appropriate slot and tighten a screw on the back where the ports are. Then put the case back on, reconnect everything and run a cable from the PS2 to the video card, and a cable from the video card to the sound card, now reboot.... you should be all set. Several UK people use this one Winfast VC 100, you don't need any special cables not included. But an S-video cable might be nice to consider. EDIT: GTA Chief of SAT fame has found a website with addons and downloads for Windows Movie Maker: http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/ Edited May 17, 2005 by Mxyzptlk
turtle dick
I'm having some problems with ULead VideoStudio 9.0 When I open the program and set everything ready to capture, everything goes perfect: But when I start to capture, the screen goes black and captures a black screen... Mxyzptlk
I haven't used it so I doubt I'll be much help, but for European capture software there seem to be problems with presets like NTSC or PAL, adjust that to PAL, and I think there was something called YUY2 you need to change RGB? A lot of editing software companies have online forums for help, I'd google for one of those... good luck! We're looking forward to your next vid! I think you need to change the bitrate, or video format in your capture software. I didn't have this problem but I remember some guys mentioning it. Greddy, try www.fraps.com. What is the best program to use to edit GTA clips together? 3. What is the best place to upload files to.
