Seeing as a lot of you played CoDMP and MmMs playing BF2, well, you'll all love CoD2 Online. It's unbelievable realistic. Some changes were made though: The crosshair is now gone when you walk and it only appears when you stand still You can only carry one weapon along with one pistol and a few grenades depending on your score. No panzerfaust, but now it's shotgun time anyhoo And a few things about the gameplay: The maps are really good and state of the art. The shotgun is only effective when the person is near you. The Thomphson is now a recoil happy weapon but I think they put more power in it. The Bren is extremely powerful now and the MP44 is, I think, the most powerful and best weapon around. And seeing that fact, being German is a good thing in CoD2. The americans with Thompsons stand no chance against Germans with MP44's. Rifle Only is muchas fun also now. There is only one map really which suits this kind of gametype: Brecourt. Extremely full of tree's and grass, it's a bit more difficult to find your enemy but the KAR98k is well done: a good powerful weapon for sure. What's very nice is that when you got a nearly headshot, you hear the bullet passing by and all-over, the sound is unbelievably good and realistic. Unless they have BARs. Well, just in SP I find myself using the Thompson really effectively. I think when you use the Thompshon the right way, as in understanding it's recoil and aiming down the sight, you can easily kill a few germans, even when they have the MP44. But it wasn't that great, and wasn't much better than the originals. Sure, I was doing better with rifles, but it just didn't feel like I would want to play it all the time. Definitely recommended. Must say I'm enjoying the single player. Like you say, It's pretty immersive and you actually find yourself ducking and trying to flank them while your boys draw their fire. Quality. I haven't encountered any lag or much slowdown at all and am on the whole very impressed with my purchase. Storming German bunkers while crossing open space filled with MG42 and small arms fire is something I've taken a liking to. Of course, I naturally suck at the multiplayer; so many trench guns, so few grenades. But these complaints are only minor, because I have a blast most of the time. Bartleby Posted November 13, 2005 Share Posted November 13, 2005 Gar, am I the only who's finding that CoD2's multiplayer is getting progressively more frustrating? It's getting tougher and tougher to find a good server to play on; it's just "Realism" server after realism server, with weird damage and bleeding systems, some only have sniper rifles, and the like. How did these mods get published so quickly anyhow? The game just came out...let me get used to the ordinary gameplay itself before adhering to some foreign rules. Eh, I guess I'm just blowing off steam. I just haven't found a good server to play on since the first day of playing the game; and that server has also since switched to a "realism" type of game.
