Goddamn if I have to download ANOTHER 600mb+ file. Judging from the comments, it'll be worth it though. Let's see how badly I can abuse my laptop with this game.

It's worth it! Just played it and it's a damn fine game. Ran without problems around the 50-60 FPS at 1024x768 with 2x AA and 4x AF and good settings.

 

It's again the most exciting war game I have ever played! Long live CoD!

That's one of the reasons I played the original to death. Chaos reigned. Especially that truck chase when you have to escape ze Germans. I wish more games could incorporate that "what the f*ck is going to happen next" like HL2, CoD, and even Timesplitters 3 did.

AWESOME! The gameplay was freaking intense. I like how much better the communication is in this game. I like how you can hear the soldiers screaming important info out to each other. It makes the gameplay seem so much more authentic. The graphics looked pretty good, even on my computer where I can't put very high settings on. The sounds were crisp. Gunshots and explosions sounded good. 11/10

The scripts themselves are very similiar to COD:UO.

Here's a nice little egg.

Play the demo. Look for a tank with no one on it, usually start off behind you and to the right. Notice the name in green and grey.

Play the demo over again and look for the same tank, the name has changed.

Any idea how you install/use that mod? There's no readme and I am a complete noob when it comes to modding COD so I've got a file and no idea where it goes or how I run the mod.

Just put it in your \Call of Duty 2 Demo\Main\ folder

All that happens is that you look like a German and use their guns, and the AI is the Brits.

Everything else is the exact same, even th voices. Funny to hear Brits speaking German and Germans speaking English.

I've worked out where it goes but don't you have to do anything ingame to load it as I just played then and everything was normal, same guns etc.

No, I just installed it in that folder and I was a German

It should work as long as it's in the same folder as the other .iwd files are. Like: iw_00.iwd and localized_english_iw00.iwd which there is a total of 10 of them, 5 each of those file name; 00-05.

 

Make sure you're also playing a new game and now Resume Game, that might be what's making the difference.

I'm a bit annoyed with the graphics settings. I have to set it to DX7 mode, which is ugly comparing to DX9, because on DX9 I get 15fps I'd expect it to run better on my 6800 go. This is weird, I can run bloody HL2 with 8xaa/16xaf

 

Apart from that, it's a great game. I'll be buying it.

I played the game with around the 50 FPS with 1024x768 with 2x AA and 4x AF and other settings on High.

 

Specs: P4 550 3,4 GHz (@ 3,4 GHz atm), 512 MB DDR-400 (getting new sticks, 1Gb) and 6600GT (525/1100).

Did you have it on DX7 or DX9?

 

I had it on No aa, no af, 1680x1050 and I was getting 15fps at the highest.

 

Pentium 4 550, Nvidia GeForce 6800 Go 256mb gddr3, 1 GB PC4300 DDR2 ram.

Awesome, played really well for me.

 

In my driver settings everything is on full. Had the res at 1280x1024 and all options maxed ingame. Dunno what FPS I had but I had no slowdown whatsoever. Absolutely nothing. I was shocked at how smooth and fast it actually was!

 

I have a 3700+ A64, 1GB Low Latency Corsiar RAM, BFG 6800 Ultra AGP OC. All stock settings.

 

I loved the English accents and the great English things they said. We Englih should talk like that all the time. I suppose in America we do

 

Typical addictive gameplay, intense and a lot better than the originals too. Definite buy for me. I didn't think it would like my PC.

First off that's a strange res size. But if you're running around 1600x1200, try dropping that a good bit.

By the way, it seems this demo is a bit power hungry, even on very normal to extra-loose settings you don't get over the 50 FPS on fairly good machines

 

I hope this engine isn't the new Crytek Engine
