After several attempts, with the slowass servers from filefront, and my computer f*cking up something fierce while trying to download from Fileplanet. At least the games playing. my comp might be f*cked up haha. Anyways, I played the demo, and I have to say it has the COD feel to it. But theres a lot of sh*t I'm not liking. I'm not going to consider these spoilers, but if you for some reason care so much about controls of a game, don't read. The no running thing pissed me off. great addition with UO I thought. Gernades pissed the hell out of me too. I personally liked being able to switch to gernades and throw them when I wanted. Now the controls only let you switch to your two weapons, and gernades are no longer an object to just run around with. I kept accidently setting of smoke gernades or throwing my gernades cause when you hit the key for them it tosses them, and it got REALLY annoying. Graphics were really good, but it seemed like at the very start, it was lacking something, along the whole demo. I liked the many different ways men could die. I went up some stairs during one part and threw a gernade into the room (one of the few I had left) and when I ran back up. One guy was sorta hurt, sprawled on the floor trying to shoot me with a pistol. So I agree that stuff is pretty cool. Though it reminded me of a few crappy PS2 war releases. I have to say, I wasn't as pleased with it as I thought I would be. I hope the multiplayer holds up to be good. Because on my first run through, it wasn't what I expected. BroDan Posted September 27, 2005 Share Posted September 27, 2005 I f*cking loved it, most intense sh*t I played for a long time, it's definately CoD, no doubt about that BUT it's a shame they had limited graphics optiosn int he demo, I wanted to whack it as high as I could. The action is definately awesome, feels like a proper fight, i do agree about the nades thing, bit weird but the cinematic pieces are pure cool as usual. Can't wait to play the full game. Physics could be a little better, even if it were just barrels toppling over when shot. I liked the grenade indicator, too. Oh, I've been CoD deprived, by the way. Never got to play the first. Its COD through and through with all the cinematic stuff that really pulls you into the game. The plane crashing and the whole dogfighting above was just awesome. Short but sweet! I'm glad I did or I would have been up all night. This is definitely a Call of Duty game, and I will definitely give up on Day of Defeat to play just this demo level. I love how the smoke looks out in the distance, and all the cinematics. And how you can do each specific battle several different ways. And no matter how many times I play this demo, when you get to that room above the MG nest, I will ALWAYS stand there getting shot, just to see the guys get blown up by the grenade I threw. Ran without problems around the 50-60 FPS at 1024x768 with 2x AA and 4x AF and good settings. It's again the most exciting war game I have ever played! Long live CoD!
