Simon.
Well I'm not sure if Rockstar does, but I think it is a part of the fictional world GTA is set in. Because it does reference Carcer City as a place in most/all 3D GTA's. Manhunt could well be a GTA game, is just is not named after the GTA series because of it's different gameplay concept.... It's really your decision .
SWEETSAPRIK
A. I don't think this belongs in this section. B. I've never heard them state that they consider it to be in the same universe. C. I think it is becauuse they mention Carcer city, and there are many other references to it. (Pic on the wall of the bars, blueprints in the planning office, etc.) PяopagaиdaIиc. Mxyzptlk
There are references to True Crime, Hitman, Half Life, etc in GTA: San Andreas; those games are not part of the GTA Universe and I don't think Manhunt should be considered either. Pyrrhus
I just see the references to Carcer City in the GTA series as cross-promotion for Manhunt.
illspirit
Umm, well, somewhere in Manhunt, there's a news program on a TV talking about something that happened in GTA3. There's also Sprunk machines in all the games. San An has a blueprints for the Starkweather mansion in one of the offices, and paintings of Starkweathers SWAT-ish guys in a bar. So, yea, methinks they're in the same universe.
GTA3Freak-2001
Same universe, yes. Same game series, No. I think Rockstar just love to cross-rerefence games to GTA as its their no 1 franchise, anyone know if there are any relations to GTA in Red Dead Revolver? Same game series, No. I think Rockstar just love to cross-rerefence games to GTA as its their no 1 franchise, anyone know if there are any relations to GTA in Red Dead Revolver? I dunno, but that game blew ass. I didn't come across any references, though.

Simon.
I thoroughly enjoyed Red Dead Revolver . But I didn't pick up any references to any of the GTA Series, or any of R* other games. So I'd say it isn't in the GTA world or series. The thing many people are saying is that carcer City is a reference, well I think not. On the radio stations you can tell by the way they talk about it that they are talking about something in their world.
GTA3Freak-2001
No its the same Carcer City, they even mention the Police Cheif Gary Shaffier on a TV in Manhunt which is of course what was mentioned on the radio in GTA3.
guv
A. I don't think this belongs in this section. Which section is a thread about Manhunt meant to go in, then? GTA4?

Fatality.
I think the Flashback DJ in GTA3 says something about 'Carcer City' at some point.
GritSandWiches4Breakfest
No they don't consider it a part of it because its not a GTA game.

*Mr.GTA*
No i don't think so ,seriously doubt it, but GTA SA and GTA 3 have references to Manhunt and Carcer city.Although they are in the same universe as GTA3Freak-2001 said it doesn't mean they are part of the same series. Mr Killer
Rockstar do not consider Manhunt as part of the GTA franchise althought they do give a few references to it in San Andreas. You can find these references if you need to in the San Andreas Easter Egg Topic.
