Comp running slow

Ok, I'm kinda pissed off right now. I've finally gotten my sechsy dream computer . But it's really starting to slow down. Everytime I exit the (awesome) demo of F.E.A.R. my computer takes about 5 mins to finally sort things out, and pick up speed.

 

Specs:

 

Intel P-D (AMD>Intel)

1024 DDR (I think) RAM

Ati Radeon X300(Need to upgrade)

 

And, some of my other games have stopped working. I can't play GTA VC, Rainbow Six, or Farcry, anymore. It could be some evil plan, by F.E.A.R.'s developers to disable all other games, but I somehow doubt that.

 

Any and all help would be appreciated, cause I'm almost considering formatting my drive, and start all over.

I'm not so worried about F.E.A.R because it needs an extremely good computer to run. What do you mean by your other games don't work? Do you get any error message, if so what? Give us more info.

Yeah, FEAR is a real bogger down of all but the highest-end PC's right now. You may want to run a defrag, and clean out your temp folders, and so on and so forth.

No errors. Just the BSOD(BLACK Screen of Death). And it seems impossible to exit out of it, I need to reboot.
