SuperCoolGuy
I have this CD combo drive, and it's been working fine for over a year. I updated Nero to version 6.6.0.13, but I can't seem to be able to burn anything. I used Nero for a few years, so I tinkered with it and tried simulations, but nothing ever happens. It starts as usual, but way faster. It says buffer underrun protection activated then it says burn process started at whatever speed, but the used read buffer never even comes up. No bars, no movement, and I can't hear that my drive is doing anything (I can usually at least hear it starting up sometimes). I poked around a bit, tried different versions of Nero, but to no avail. I tried simply burning a file to a CD, but my computer won't even let me do that. I noticed a new process that I'd never seen before: imapi.exe. I looked it up and microsoft says it's used for CD burning. I try killing the process, but whenever I attempt to start burning something it starts itself up and my computer says my disc may be unusable. I've tried 2 different brands of blank media and I can assure you that they were both already blank. So my computer recognizes the drive, but I can't do anything with it. Help, please?
