Random click sound

When im on my PC, there is this random "click" sound. The click sound is like the one when you click buttons on this forum. This happens randomly and I dont even have any other applications running.

Do you have X-fire or any other programs with ads in them?

Do you have any internet related programs running in your system tray or in the background? Any programs with auto-refreshing pages like page weather programs or programs that have refreshing advertisements will cause the IE click. If you do not have any programs like this that you know of I would do a spyware scan with Spybot S&D and fix any spyware problems (note that some ad-supported programs might stop working; so make sure you know any ad-supported programs and what spyware they use so you can select it not to be deleted if you want the program to work)

 

That; or you could do this and turn off the IE click sound (it's annoying anyway. I use Firefox so I dont have to hear it anyway)

This happens to me when I leave Avant which is a alternate browser running as it has a feature where it keeps whatever pages open but minimized to the system tray. Certain pages have auto-refresh and that's what sets off this random click noise for me.
