Canoxa
Just hit Print Screen. It should be next to the F12 key. That way it takes a framgrab of your screen and everything on it. Like that, you can take out the image from the .avi file. oh yeah, and you're not tewh 1337 mastah orf teh computar!

I have no idea about Winamp, but on Windows Media Player go to Tools -> Options -> Performance -> Video Acceleration and drag the bar to none, then you should be able to Print Screen without any problems. lolz at me actually knowing something about computers. Hell No..
With SP2 you should have Movie Maker 2, import the AVI file into that and as shown in the picture below, click the circled button to take a picture of the current paused image, and save it to where ever you like. segosa
You can also use VideoLAN to play your videos which includes a nice little snapshot feature.

Microsoft should get Movie Maker off all Windows Installations or release a serious fix as that buster is crashing every random 10 minutes for no particular reason (and that on 300 of the last 700 sold PCs from both Asus and Acer from my work, where it was identified as nothing but a software problem)

Plays DVDs as good as those bulky programs that come bundled with videocards (if not better) and has less codec issues than WinAMP or WMP or RealPlayer or any of that stuff. Also has lots of advanced video options for videos with subtitles and all that. Great program.

I know for DVD's it has a built in copy of libdvdcss2(DVD Jon is on the team), and I think it makes up decompression for all other codecs. All I know is that it can actually play quicktime movies, while MPC/Quicktime lag video, but do audio fine.
