riccbhard
Ok. Go to C:\windows\repair (or whatever drive windows is installed on). Copy 'autoexec.nt". Go to C:\windows\system32. Paste the file there. If it asks to overwrite select yes. edit: http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=217108 As you can see it's a common problem. That's why there is a copy of autoexec.nt in the repair folder; because it gets corrupted over time. Hope this helps. I've ran into this problem many times myself on many different computers; new or old. Edited September 25, 2005 by riccbhard

riccbhard
Your welcome! I think I might make a topic of my own for this fix and request it to be pinned; it's such a common problem. I've encountered this problem so many times I lost track of the # of times I've seen the error.

Waste
I have to thank you as well. I needed this since I am fixing a computer for a customer of mine and knew nothing about this.
Wolf68k
Your welcome! I think I might make a topic of my own for this fix and request it to be pinned; it's such a common problem. I've encountered this problem so many times I lost track of the # of times I've seen the error. Add it to the "Read Before You Post A Question" other wise it'll be just another pinned topic that no one reads. @Barbaneez There are no stupid questions...only stupid people that don't ask them and end up screwing up their own stuff and in some cases other's stuff as well. And trust me, that one is far from being a stupid question...that is all on the fault of MS.
