BroDan
Ok: Ntl 3mb connection, Broadband modem connected to standard Belkin 54mbps Router, I installed the router via my PC, all works, plugged my GFs PC into it and it picked it up and she can get online fine. Tried to play some LAN games, we both have seperate IPs via the router, checked them, tried to play LAN and no games pick up, TCP IP connections don't work via the IPs either. Have tried making Virtual Servers via the router for certain games and still no luck, have placed my PC outside the DMZ and no luck there either. Tried setting up a Microsh*te Network and no luck. What am I doing wrong? Why won't the router allow us to play LAN games together Still alive, lurking in the shadows. BF3 Profile
Cran.
I'm not the worlds biggest expert on this, but I do use my friend's router and we play CoD together, etc. Anyway, I just put my Ethernet onto "Obtain a IP address automaticly" under the TCP/IP settings and it works everytime. Hope this kinda helps and all, yeah
Taxman
Did you forward your ports?

unholypie
I think you will need to port Forward. Here is the link for the site and I think there is a guide on there on how to do it . Link: >>PortForward
Wolf68k
Unless Belkin are complete morons, you do not need to open ports in the router for the LAN side. Port forwarding is used sololy for opening ports that will be used by the WAN into a assigned IP address on the LAN side. @Cran Anyway, I just put my Ethernet onto "Obtain a IP address automaticly" under the TCP/IP settings and it works everytime. Both machines are getting online just fine which means they are getting IP addresses from the router. @BroDan Do you know the IP addresses for both yours and your GF's systems? Does either system, if not both, run XP and do they have the XP firewall turned on? If so turn it off. On that note if either system (again if not both) runs a thrid-party firewall, turn it off. After you've gotten the OS and/or third-party firewalls turned off, and you if you know the IP address to each machine, try to ping each machine form the other. Ping her's from yours and vise versa.
