File Icon Pictures Not Showing Up

So, I recently installed Nero 6 at a fairly early version, and unfortunately I made it the default program for music file types on accident, which I easily changed back with Winamp, but I got a newer version of Nero 6, so I uninstalled then reinstalled, and I noticed that all my music files instead of showing the icon selected in Winamp, only show that icon for files that your computer doesn't recognize, but they still play and everything. I've tried checking and unchecking their default status in Winamp, but they still look that way. It didn't bother me that much, but it happened a long time ago with the internet explorer icon on my desktop (my parents use it, I use firefox fyi). If you need me to elaborate or try to explain that... uh... more betterly, just ask and I shall do my best.

 

On a completely unrelated note, a long time ago (around the same time the IE icon changed), the original text document got deleted, so I can only make documents in rich text or whatever else. I heard that if i download and place a text document in the folder it was in when it was deleted, then i can make new text documents. The problem is I can't remember what folder it goes in and whether or not I'm just completely full of sh*t.Any help with either of these questions will be appreciated, thanks.
