Drive through barrier in VC?

I don't know if anyone has discovered this already, but it is possible to drive right through one of the bridge barriers in VC with a PCJ-600. I don't know how, but last night I was messing around and managed to drive right through the barrier. It was on the bridge next to the Washington Hospital. It was on PS2.

 

Again, I don't know if someone has already found this or not, but it's a pretty cool trick. I'll try and record myself doing it later so you guys can see how to do it.

In fact, you'll find that this is the King of VC's (Spuds's) fave way of getting to the 2nd island early

I'm assuming you crossed at the same place as I did (at the gap between the concrete barriers)--if not I'd like to know where you did.

 

I found this back when I first started playing VC (Jan 2003)-- I was stuck on Phenom Penh 86 (which opens up the 2nd island)--I really wanted to see the other island and I was experimenting with trying to crash into the barriers and trying to fly over when I accidently went through that one-- of course I promptly crashed and drowned (before even crossing the bridge) and it took me a while to figure out how to repeat it (I didn't remember exactly what I did)-- I finally figured it out how to approach and where to aim and can usually do it in a couple of trys now.

 

I still don't know if its possible to do this on any version other then PS2-- it might be some odd glitch-- I did notice as you pass through it, your camera angle changes for a split second-- you can see it on the video clip Iposted-- I don't know why it does that.
