But I assume that this thread is actually about Cruise, since I can't think of a single Hanks movie with him being a crane operator. That christmas digital film by Zemeckis. it's a far stretch, but if you meant brain instead of crane, then you could check out The Green Mile because he fries people's brains in an electric chair. in Sleepless in Seattle, he plays an architect, who may work with crane operators occasionally. in Volunteers he's in Vietnam, so as a soldier he could have operated a crane, but I can't remember that movie very well, it's been so long. sorry about that. in Splash he works at a docking company near the bay in New York City I believe, so he most definitely has used one in that profession, I'm guessing. ...well, that's all the help I can offer.
