EmSixTeen
First off, this is my motherboard, and my GFX card is an Inno3D 6800GT.. eBuyer don't have it any more, so I can't link that. Well, built my PC, played about on it for a while.. Come home and go to turn it on the next day, and it won't boot up. Opened up the case, and saw that I was getting an 04 error on the POST. Took it apart again, and tried rebuilding bit by bit, checking the POST after I put each part in.. It was fine and would pass the 04 code and go to the next and so on after every part being put in, until I got to the graphics card.. It stops at the 04 error, so that must be what's up with it. As far as I could make out from looking around, that's a memory error though, but I don't know. The fan on the GPU doesn't seem to even spin when I put it in.. I don't really know what else to say, it's been sitting there for a couple of weeks now because I'm just disheartened that I've had so many problems, including having to buy another mobo because the first one was DOA. What makes it worse, and weird, is that it was working fine the night before when I had finished the build, and I was playing Half-Life 2 all night. So, umm.. Someone please help. I don't particularly want to have to buy a new mobo again or another £200 graphics card
Dup
Right, if you have two sticks of RAM, try it with just one, if not work, swap it for the other and try again. That should eliminate an memory fault if it is that, but i highly doubt it. Make sure the GFX card has power from the PSU and make sure that the line from PSU to GFX card isn't connected to anything else. The GFX card fan not spinning has to be a power problem becasue it should always spin if power is connected. If no luck, ungplug power from all CD drives, floppy, fans etc except the bare essentials and the GFX card. If it works, you need a good high powered branded PSU like Tagan, Antec etc. Does the PC make any beeps at all? You might have to check the seating of the gfx card Do not put the bracked screw in tight, ot at all and see how it goes then. Also make sure RAM is seated properly. Sounds like a dodgy motherboard. Clear the CMOS with the PC unplugged for like 1 min using the jumper on the motherboard and try it then. If you bought the mobo from Scan, they will replace it. Devyl
INteresting. Try like stated and clear the CMOS. Then, if it still won't work try updating the bios.
Wolf68k
Remember just because it's new doesn't mean it's perfect. Now a refurbished product does mean when you get it will work and at factor specs because the people that do the refurb have to test it. So you should send the card back and tell them it just died after minial use. If it's at all possible see if you can get a GFX card from another computer to test the slot/mobo. If the other card that you know does work doesn't work when put into your mobo then the mobo is bad. And of course if all goes fine, then the card is bad. Of course you could also take your card to another PCIE system and see how it works in there and get the same idea from the test. @Dup That mobo has an LED display that shows error codes rather than relying on beeps. It would have been nice if Em as said that getting that code he looked in the manual and told us what that code means.
EmSixTeen
I just went upstairs and tried seeing if flashing the CMOS works, but unfortunately it didn't. The power is in, and the fan isn't spinning. The code isn't in the manual, but some googling brought up a couple of things to do with the RAM not being seated properly and the likes.. I've already tried mixing up the RAM to get it to work, putting in DIMMs 3 and 4 instead of 1 and 2, etc.. Didn't work. I don't know if I can get ahole of another mobo to test it on, or if I could get another GPU to try in the mobo, which is a bit annoying. The 6800GT was bought from eBuyer, and I've had it longer than the returns allows (30 days)..
Wolf68k
Ok then it's a memory issue. See if you can take the RAM sticks to some place to be tested. Like a local computer shop
EmSixTeen
I can't think of a way to get ahold of another PC to test in at all, but I'll ask in the local PC shop.. I don't think they'll be very co-operative though.

I don't think they'll be very co-operative though. You don't know anyone with a comp that uses the same type of RAM as yours? If you do, just nick a stick and try with that. I don't see how faulty RAM would result in the GPU fan not spinning, though... ~az
