Thanatoid
I apologize if this has been asked before, but I searched the boards extensively and didn't find it. Specs: xp pro sp2, msi k8n neo4, gigabyte 6800gt 256mb, 3200+ 939pin, 1gb ocz platinum, 1.01 patch The dark parts of the game have white or occasionally colored missing areas. They are small, like dots, resembling snow. It looks like really bad artifacting, but I don't suspect that the video card is too hot. I've run 3dmark03, half-life 2 for an hour, etc, and seen none of this. In fact, all other games run fine. I have experienced the same problem with both the 71.89 and 78.01 drivers. I have direct x 9.0c. If more info is needed, just tell me. Edited September 23, 2005 by Thanatoid
OzzySM12
I would say stick wiht the newest drivers for your card. have you overclocked the graphics card. if so you may not have done it right or done it too much.
Mike0
Rockstar does not recommend overclocking with this game. So play at stock speeds. It says so in the 1.01 FAQ. Read it sometime. It has usefull information.
Thanatoid
I do have the newest drivers. The card has never been oc'd. I read the 1.10 faq. Edited September 23, 2005 by Thanatoid
Thanatoid
Problem solved. The Gigabyte card is no good. I also noticed bad artifacting in 3dmark05 from a cold start (and no OC), so I borrowed a friend's pny 6800gt. Same setup, same drivers, same everything and no problems. RMA time.
