my new sig

this is my new sig. i just thought of it randomly the other day, and made it real quick. yes, i know it's only interesting if you are wearing the default skin... oh well. which reminds me, do you guys know if there's any way that i could make a few different versions and use some sort of rotator that could detect what skin the user was wearing and put in the correct image?

 

it's probably not possible, and if it is, it's probably more trouble than it's worth. either way, please comment on it. i think it could be better and look more realistic, but i don't know where to go with it. anyway, here it is:

I like it, with the exception of one thing.

It lacks an explosion. The Duke Nukem 3D kind, those were great. Add some explosions.

oh, i get it. its the background of the default skin, like theres been a hole put where the sig should be. actually, when you understand what it is its quite a clever design.

thanks everybody for your thoughts an' stuff... still, i think it could look more realistic somehow, but i don't know what to change. more crack? some sort of shading? any ideas are welcome.

If this was vBulletin, you could write something in PHP that would read the cookie, find bbstyleid, and output the correct sig according to that, but I have no f*cking clue how to:

 

1. Use cookies in PHP.

2. Set styleid in IPB.

Damn thats a good idea, although i would suggest making the grey box around the hole transparent, so that it blends into the standard blue message background. (Save as GIF with transparency)

Also with this on other site skins, it would look like the default skin was breaking through.

^*cough* stop using internet explorer and it will be transparent *cough*^

 

although, i see your point. since it already only works on the default skin, i might as well save it as a gif so everyone (even those using i.e. ) can see it.
