BCspeed34
I recently obtained a Geforce FX 5200. Last Night I installed it just fine and it worked like a charm. Then, I tested out it's S-Port capabilities. After testing on the TV I noticed something wasn't right when on desktop. After the windows logo and loading bar goes for awhile, the screen just goes blank, and the idle light is on. So I uninstalled the card from device manager tonight. Now when I try and re-install, it says this: CANNOT INSTALL THIS HARDWARE There was a problem installing this hardware: VGA Controller (VGA Compatible) An error occured during the installation of the device Acess is denied Click Finish to cloze the wizard Any ideas? This is really weird ________________________________________ 専車SODO-MOTO International Vehicle Importers
GTA3Freak-2001
You do relise you shouldn't use Device Manager to install a GFX card, you need to install the latest NVIDIA drivers.
BCspeed34
I never did use device manager. I just put in the card, booted up the PC, and installed everything needed, now it says access is denied (it said this before device uninstall aswell) ________________________________________ 専車SODO-MOTO International Vehicle Importers
Waste
So I uninstalled the card from device manager tonight. I never did use device manager. Which one did you do? Check to see that if your NVidia drivers are correctly installed.
BCspeed34
I meant not using it as in installing. But anyways, I fixed the problem somehow. I switched the PCI slot to another one, and in the System Setup (F1 at startup) I changed the card back to PCI) Then it let me use the drivers finally Problem fixed it looks like. ________________________________________ 専車SODO-MOTO International Vehicle Importers
GTA3Freak-2001
Its just I assumed by the message you got that you were following windows own install hardware wizard once you installed the card and booted up. So after you had installed the NVIDIA drivers Windows still gave you that message? Anyway it sounds like there was a conflict, I had it back when I was still using PCI cards lol
