thanos
I'd like to finish this last mission myself, but I'm having a problem catching Sweet from the firetruck. I think it may be a glitch with the game i have...cuz i can't keep up with that firetruck on an open highway? Makes no sense. And I always seem to have problems driving fast enough on other missisons too (dreaded Monster Mission). I;ve found many shortcuts that allow you to get ahead of the firetruck, but i always have to be real careful not to get too ahead when we get to the highway or i'll lose em. But in any case...any tips on how to catch up to that firetruck and catch sweet? Thanks!
Plaka
Could be your System is not up to it ... particularly the Graphics card, if you had problems with Stowaway then this will be the same ... Generally just keep with the Firetruck, it will always be ahead of you, you can't catch it ! near to the end going through the docks area is a good place to get close ... just be carefull of other vehicles they'll try to spin you out etc. When you're close to the Stadium THAT is the time to get REAL close to the Firetruck ! Good luck
blackwings
i am playing on ps2 and have missed him only once having played that mission a boatload of times - the good news is, you dont have to be under him when his grip runs out, he will jump in regardless of where his grip is at, as long as youre under him at some point when the grip meter comes up - if its a problem with your system like plaka said, no amount of tips will help, unless its a reconfiguring your settings tip - good luck
thanos
Thanks for the suggestions guys. It must be the system...maybe I'll try to get a better graphix card...I'll let you guys know how that goes. You can definitely get ahead of the fire truck using shortcuts, sometimes I have to sit and wait for it to catch up to me. but it always outruns me, there's no neck-to-neck with that thing. Hmmm... I just read a thread somewhere on this forum that suggests reducing the screen resolution to 640 16 bit & draw distance at zero...this might ease up the strain on the video card..interesting...will let you know how something like that goes... Simon.
If you think you have a slow system, turn the graphics right down. Anti-Aliasing- 0Resolution- 640x468 32bitTexture Detail- LowDraw Distance- LowSee what happens with those settings, if that doesn't work use 16bit colour. Which makes the game ugly . EDIT: Yes, that thread is right. I use those settings while using FRAPS, to stop lag.
thanos
simon - you were right! now i have no problem at all catching up to the back of the firetruck! I can't believe the difference that made. That has relieved a lot of aggravation....now my only problem is i get TOO close!!! lol....1 time he fell right next to the car...arrrghhhh...i'm sure i'll work it out eventually but i'm glad i at least have a chance now on catching up to that thing... -p
thanos
I owe this tip to DJDJ: Go to the handle.cfg file in the data folder. Change the max velocity & acceleration for the SELTZER (that's the name of that white drop top you drive) to really high numbers. This way, you have no problem at all catching up to the back of that firetruk, even if you spin out! Sweet drops off the ladder before he "has" to, and it is a lot easier to catch him that way.
