More then San Andreas?

I recently finished the San Andreas storyline, and feel myself longing for more of that sort of genre, that feeling of GTA:sa. Does that make sense?

I work at a video/DVD rental store, and I grabbed a bunch of DVDs that I recon are similar in storyline, and style of GTAsa. And I was curious if anyone else could add to the list.

Think of it like you are trying to write another GTA set in SA, what would you watch/listen/view for inspiration, and ideas?

1. Training Day (Has a bit of an Officer Tenpenny feel/style to it.)

2. Gone in 60 seconds. (Either the original or the new one, chase scenes, and auto theft)

3. South Central (A gangster with the last name Johnson has just been released from prison to return to his old neighborhood. Im not making that up, but does it sound familiar?)

4. Boyz N The Hood (Absolute classic.)

5. Eminem - One Shot 2 Shot (Some funny lyrics, D12 was probably playing GTA when they wrote this. A must read)

Add to the list...

Menace II Society is a very good movie, and one of the references they used for the game's atmosphere. It's well worth a look.

GTA3Freak-2001
You can also add Colors to the list, its about two LA cops on the CRASH team and yeah its full of LA ganglife the kind of thing SA has. Really any action movie set in either LA, SF and LV would be GTA material that's what makes GTA great they just roll together classic movie sections and yeah it works.

Awesome, List, I have to get some of these out.

I wanna add “Man on fire” to the list. It has some awesome action, and even an RPG scene. Although the whole thing is set in Mexico, it has the one man army GTA feel to it.

Don't Be A Menace to South Central While Drinking your 40 in Da Hood. It parodies all the early 90s gang movies. I figured you could use a little comedy mixed in with all those hood dramas you've picked out. It's got the Waynes bros. and it's pretty funny. Worth a look

Yeah that one is heaps funny. And GTA is a bit too. Good addition. smile.gif

In Australia its called: “Don't Be A Menace to South Central While Drinking your Juice in Da Hood” We have the stupidest censors.

Then again you guys get stuff like “Harry potter and the Sorcerer’s stone.” :S ??

Aside form that. Good pick, I forgot about that one, even with “South Central,” “Boyz in the Hood,” and “Menace II Society” It didn’t ring a bell. LOL.
