Game Freezes

Hyper

Recommended Posts

I have a problem. I've never had this problem before, just this whole week. The game freezes every 30 minutes. After 30 min, it comes back again, vice versa. Is there a way to terminate the freeze? but once I ctrl alt delete, the game is minimized and I mazimize it again, it works. I just want to get rid of this problem, because it is annoying to ctrl alt delete everytime.

System Specs:

AMD Athlon 3200+ 2.01 Ghz

Sapphire Radeon X300 SE 128 MB

Windows XP-SP2

1GB RAM

250 GB Harddrive

It runs fine for 30mins and then freezes for 30mins?

What do you have running in the background? Done a spware scan lately?

Some what off topic:

AMD Athlon 3200+ 2.01GHz. 64-bit?

Yes, make sure you don't have a heap of programs running in the background, do a virus scan, adware scan, etc.

Also, when you have the time, try doing a defrag, this will help clear up some memory, and might also fix up the problem.

I did all the scans and did a disk defrag. I do it occasionally. I do have a anti-virus called "Shaw Secure" I wonder if it affects the gameplay. I also have Microsoft Antispyware.

Anymore solutions? monocle.gif

Edit: The game freezes for 20 seconds every 30 minutes.

Did you buy the version of San Andreas from eBay or something, if you did, make sure It's a legit version of the game. If you didn't, make sure the cd isn't scratched or anything. It's a weird problem. confused.gif

I bought it before it was rated AO. Got it the day it came out. Also, if you have a scratched disc, what can you do to "unscratch" it /fix.

Buy a cd scratch repair kit from your local super market, something like this should do the trick.

If not, try borrowing a friends copy of the game, trying it on your PC and see if you can play theirs. If it runs ok, It's definately your cd that's the problem.
