Etiology

Not much for rapping, but I like some rap, the rap with substance. So I figured I'd write something out in that style. Keep in mind, it sounds better rapped than read. Most rap does.

Etiology

Dark sky, see the moon shine, blue lines the sky line with highlight

It’s time, like Sartre I gotta question time, question why

Did Mother Earth stand still to instill what might be magic?

These frantic sporadic ponderings that make me erratic and mad at

Whatever God might be pulling the strings in life

breathin air into lungs makin quiet ducks sing the strife

I dabble in Agnosticism, not believing what these churches tryin to get in em

tryin to fit in with these livin conditions that’ll never fit in em

Sinnin therein lookin for medicine to keep religious doubts contained within

Skiddin and treadin these waters drinkin and partin these waters

drink the blood eat the flesh, cross yah self five times with conviction for starters

This sh*t is for real,

who answered to the beckon call of Jesus, kissed at his heels and kneeled,

sacrificed their minds and ideals just for three square meals

Hell, here’s you some fish and some bread,

I’ll keep you million men fed,

I’ll turn water to wine just to know the truth that was said.

Broken light tangles itself through the branches and leaves

and rests on the dirt that fertilize the trees

Trees that we smoke, this tree that I toke,

getting higher in thinkin, tryin to hear the truth that they spoke.

It’s human thinkin that I’m tryina evoke

don’t sidestroke my words and wisdom,

this is the sh*t that gives mental midgets heatstrokes.

We got to define the origins, of species or creation or intelligent fabrication

the fabric of knowledge like a consultation of why we got emancipation.

Don’t lie to yourselves, or use anything as a crutch,

its getting closer to the core that keeps me movin on stuff

and lets me live to let die and hold the life to a touch.

Not bad, man. smile.gif

I read it all the way through because you kept me interested.

I enjoyed it.

I think this was my favorite sequence of four lines.

Broken light tangles itself through the branches and leaves

and rests on the dirt that fertilize the trees

Trees that we smoke, this tree that I toke,

getting higher in thinkin, tryin to hear the truth that they spoke.

I'm more then a little confuzzled (that's rap-slang!).

Etiology meaning: The cause or origin of a disease or disorder as determined by medical diagnosis.

Basically poses the question... are you retarded?

Secondly, when making "rap", you should consider your choice of words somewhere between "negro" and "academic". Let's face it, if you add Agnosticism to your rap, about 98% of the world's population will need a dictionary to translate its meaning.

Good job Candarelli. It has a nice flow and is easy to read/rap. I think you should try and do a demo ( more rap speak ) of it. Maybe get one of the forum rappers do rap it for you. Would be nice to hear that way.

1.

a. The study of causes or origins.

b. The branch of medicine that deals with the causes or origins of disease.

2.

a. Assignment of a cause, an origin, or a reason for something.

So I think the question is, are you retarded for not noticing more than one interpretation of the word "etiology"? The theme of the song is about studying and questioning of "origins" which makes perfect sense. In short, you're a f*cking dunce that can't properly read a dictionary.

Secondly, maybe people should open up a dictionary if they don't understand a word. It's not that hard really, unless of couse, it's you.

As long as the words flow, it shouldn't matter what they mean. A huge part of rap is in the beauty of the sound of the words and not in what they mean.

The meaning of words are relevant to the person hearing them, only the sound of them can embark on being absolute.

I like it, it's a lot better than half the sh*t on these forums.

Also, Great rap!

I love the flow, combined with the fact that its not the same old sh*t about killing, dealing drugs, or f*cking.
