FM2006 Demo

Sports Interactive Games

As you now know FM2006 is due for release in a few months time, at the moment a demo version is out, this topic can be used to (at first) chat about the demo, new players, new teams and then later on the full game itself.

I have played the demo briefly and although some data and stats need to be sorted, the game looks very promising. I have posted some pictures of players below, if you'd like to see a screen of a particular player or of a new feature, just ask.

Well I'd hate to be me or even my bank balance right about now but I'll be after this one. Any news if a new Cm is coming out, I got FM instead of the last one and it'd be nice to get a change of pace.

Dude CM sucks now, so I have no idea if CM6 is coming out.

I never knew it was coming out either, not that I will have any time to play it but I might buy it on release. I've been out of the FM/CM loop for too long now, will it be better than CM 01/02 though?

Cant say as never played CM's.

The first time I played FM was this year really after reading the thread on here, so its all purple9's fault, He owes me cash!

But has been really worth it for me, plus they update when players get sold and all, very addictive though.

Some of CM's features have carried over to the FM series, FM2005 is a really good and as Wadds say's addictive game. I need to sell my FM2005 in time for the new FM2006.

The demo is very average at the moment, but that's only because it doesn't have all of the features that the full version will have, I've seen some stats that weren't updated for players, and other stats that were just wrong. Example, Steven Gerrard BLOWS in the demo, he wasn't even selected in the liverpool starting 11 in my game, not even on as a sub. Micheal Essien is another one that totally blows in it as well, but I'm sure everything will be updated and in top shape by November.

Heh, I haven't had any real trouble with Southampton in FM2006 demo.

I've won 2 games out of 4. One was a 1-1 draw, and the other a rather worrying 4-2 drubbing against Stoke.

Very nice, I thought the gold demo would come out a lot later, but a late October release date is very exciting. Two great soccer games, PES5, and FM2006, coming out at the same time is going to kill me, as I won't know which to get addicted to first. tounge.gif

Wow...bumpage.

Verdict on the Gold Demo, fellas?

I think it's fookin' amazing stuff. They've really excelled with this one. Plus it's much more challenging.

Started off with the Gooners and signed two players for £24million (Diarra 4m, Tevez 20m), but they haven't had much impact yet. I've struggled a fair bit to be honest aswell. It's hard getting the right tactic against different teams.

Can't wait for the release biggrin.gif

I thought they moved the date over to the 21st of october? Or is that just false info?

No, that's correct. I'm talking about the latest demo they've released.

I'll be getting it if i can evade Niki's radar. She bought me Half Life 2 last week or the week before and it's still sealed. BF2 takes up my gaming time but FM2006 could be the man to stop all that.

Pancho the great

There isnt that many.

As most have been discovered LOL.

Players I liked to sign at the start ike Robinho and Tevez, are either bought by real, or near impossible to afford.

But I picked up a few good youngsters.

Nuri Sahrin (DM) 16 years old, Open contract from Dortmund.

Joao Moutinho (AMC) 18 year old, Paid 8 Million for him, but he is great.

Eddie Johnson (ST) 21 years old, Paid 2 million for him, he is VERY fast and has a decent finish.

Currently trying to fill out my liverpool side.

I second that, I bought it yesterday and am loving it, makes FM2005 look shoddy!

I'm playing as Arsenal, signed Stoica and Radoi and sold crap like Cygan, Lauren, Garry, Owuseu (spelling?)

Hi all! I am new here and have stumbled upon this FM2006 thread. I am an avid FM player and seeing that some of you are like myself, I'll share with you all a few players that I have uncovered and should be worth taking a look at!! Most of them (not all) are good and can be bought for a fairly cheap price in the first and maybe second season!!

Forwards

Rodrigo Palacio (A MUST SEE!!)

Kikin Fonseca

Cesare Carignano

Fernando Cavenaghi

Halil Altintop

Akin Serhat

Daniel Friedheim Holm

Cesar Delgado

Midfielders

Rafael Van Der Vaart

Leandro Romagnoli

Manuele Blasi

Leo Messi

Kerlon

Ibrahim Afellay

Sasha Iakovenko

Walter Jimenez

Defenders

Andrea Barzagli

Christian Terlizzi

Ron Vlaar

Gustavo Cabral

Goalkeeper

Stuart Taylor has been doing brill for me but he does not have very good stats. I am Lpool by the way smile.gif

Plus Deisler, Ballack and Karimi contracts are unprotected after just one season so you can bolster your squad with them. All of them are from Bayern. Good luck!!

I finally got it, and it's much better than the demo was, and much better than 2005. So many things have improved, and training is much easier, I'm in November in my season with Benfica, doing great domestically, but only 3 points after 3 games in Champions League. My goal is to get third in my group so I can go to Uefa and win that.

Does anyone still play this? I've been crazily addicted to it just like I was with FM2005. I've done one season with Benfica, which sucked, because I'm getting quite sick of the Portuguese Superliga. So I decided to manage a Championship team, get them promoted and get a decent league position in the Premiership.

Well, I managed Wolves to winning the English Championship, and even beating Chelsea 3-1 in the Carling Cup final. Once I was promoted, I picked up tons of players off free transfer, and I ended up getting Wolves to a 5th place finish in the Premiership. Now I'm in my third season with them, but I'm also doing another side game with Man City, which I'm thoroughly enjoying.

I sold like 4-5 players off of Man City, and I purchased quite a few strikers for the team, as they're needed on Man City. I got Rodrigo Palacio, Eddie Johnson, Enzo Giovanni Scorza (who's much better in 2005) and Hugo Almeida from Porto, who's really quite good in this game. Oh, and I got Zalayeta from Juventus, who's leading the league in scoring with 14 league goals in 12 games. I'm also using a really good formation that I thought up of myself (mostly because I bought too many strikers). It's a diamond formation, with three central defenders, and three forwards, two of them running to the flanks. I use defensive mentality, and counter attack and I average about 3 goals a game. I'm currently unbeaten as well, sitting in 2nd place in the Premiership behind.....Aston Villa, but I have 2 games in hand.

A few youngsters to look at:

Scorza

Aldo Andres Jara

Nani (Sporting winger)

Anthony Vanden Borre (golden)

Eddie Gaven (AMAZING youngster)

Joao Moutinho (crazy good AMC from Sporting)

Amaral (great right back, bought him for my Wolves team)

Fellype Gabrielle (He's pretty good, young, and can play a number of positions, but he's sorta inconsistent.)

Leo Messi (just like real life, he's a f*cking wonderkid, if you have 8 million dollars, definitely get him.)

Giuseppe Rossi (the great striker from Man Utd, get him on loan with a lower level club, purchase him if you have the cash, definitely worth it.)

Ricardo Quaresma (Porto winger, really great)

Steven Taylor (strong centre back)

Anton Ferdinand (see above)

Rafinha (haven't purchased him, but he looked phenomenal for his age)

Kerlon (most should know about him, hes fantastic)

Gaston Fernandez (the only striker I want, that I haven't purchased yet.)

Luclas Biglia (good DMC)

Nuri Sahin (17, check his stats, looks fantastic)

Lavezzi (haven't bought him, but looks good)

Definitely check those guys out, I know there are a lot more out there, just look.

WOW this could use a bump.

After playing the game more often I have come across some good players that may interest you other FM fans.

Free Transfers (start of season)

Edu - Defensive midfielder, has Italian other nationality.

Bangura - Young defender, needs alot of training.

Emini - Young defender, great on the left side.

Emerson - Brazilian striker, scores loads.

Rubinho - Goalkeeper, has Italian other nationality.

Basinas - Experienced Greek defensive midfielder.

Stoica - Romanian winger, can use both feet.

Players to approach to sign (will join your club for free) (start of season)

Jimmy Dixon - Liberian defender, has Swedish other nationality.

Karl Svensson - Swedish defender, develops into a great player.

There are a few more young Swedish players at Karl Svensson's club, just check their contracts and sign them.
