Rayo Puño
What do you think is the best solo ever? Dosen't have to be guitar, can be drum, violin, vocal, bass, whatever. I don't mean best, or most talented either, just your personal favorites. Mine would either be the guitar solo in "Beat It," by Michael Jackson, or the violin solo in "Dust in the Wind," by Kansas. Is there supposed to be an apostrophe in your's? I don't think so now, your is already possesive, so it dosen't, does it? I don't know.
ToyMachine
Metallica's Jump in the fire has to be my favorite solo. I also love Stigmata by Arch Enemy. I also enjoy the solo in Free Bird but who doesn't. I memorized it.
Groovy
I don't have a favorite as in all time favorite, but I really dig the Solo in Be All, End All by Anthrax, all of the solo's in Wake Up Dead and Hanger 18 by Megadeth.

Eviscero
Of course the pink floyd favorites. Most of their songs have kickass solos. More epic ones would be Mother, Comfortably Numb, Time, Money (one of the greatest ever), etc. One that is less known by all would probably be Journey - Of a Lifetime. Before they sold out they were one kickass band.

Saggy
Wow, I don't know... Lynard Skynard's Freebird has a nice one. Blue Oyster Cult's Don't Fear the Reaper has a great one, too. I don't think too many metal solos would work themselves up the ranks of my favorites because most of them sound the same. Groovy
After listening to it again, I must say I dig all the mini solos in Exodus's cover of Low Rider. And the second solo in Jump In The Fire rules too. And how could I forget the solo's in Final Product by Nevermore? I do not know. Johnno
The Boys of Summer, by Don Henley. Victim of Love, by the Eagles. Hotel California, by the Eagles. Life in the Fast Lane, by the Eagles. Funk #49, by Joe Walsh. Freebird, by Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's so hard to choose just one. Though at the moment, it would be Victim of Love. 8ballsoffire
miles' solo on Blue in Green is one of the most beautiful i've ever heard. trane plays pretty good on that one too. anyone who's got the same live version of a love supreme as i do will know about the arco bass solo i'm talking about. i was riding my bike when i first listened to it and i had to stop to sit down, really one of the best solos i've ever heard. Timage
Metallica - Fade to Black Guns 'n Roses - November rain (who can forget that outtro?) Pretty much any solo by John Butler. Here's a question, what makes a great solo? Is it the sheer speed of the solo, or is it just the way it sounds? I mean, the guitar solo in 'My Happiness' by 'Powderfinger' is awesome in my opinion, but it's not fast at all. I just love it.
C Bear
Eddie Hazel's solo on Funkadelic's Maggot Brain gets my weiner pretty big. Damn right. I'm listening to it now.
