Handling config for motorcycles

I'm wanting to add a little more fun in the game and have tried editing the handling.cfg with notepad with limited results. I then downloaded the SA Handling Editor by Jacob and am trying to do some insane jumps like in the videos were only the config file was edited. Could someone email me a config file or post a link to a topic that goes into this in detail for bikes and jumping? I couldn't find much out there for this but I probably looked in all the wrong places. Making the bike go faster helps with the height of the jumps but doesn't control well so I was hoping for some help.

Thanks in advance and sorry if wrong forum.

I changed the pcj-600 config in VC... but have not bothered to with SA. See, I was tired of hitting anything and flying off the bike... even a light pole. sarcasm.gif So I changed the bike to go really fast and weigh a whole lot... about the mass of 4 fire trucks. Basically, if I hit any cars or trucks or peds or movable objects... I'd plow right thru them. Cars and trucks would bounce off me like I was ramming thru some police barracade. It was awesome. On the second island, I'd start down south by the docks, race up the main street and jump that stairwell across the street from and facing the downtown ammunation shop. Rather than landing on the roof I was supposed to, I flew far across it and into the grassy field on the other side. I would try doing those two things... give your bike lots of speed and lots of weight.

"But wait!", you say, "Adding more weight will make the bike fall faster."

To that, I point out Newton's 2nd law of inertia.

"The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting upon it. The constant of proportionality is the mass." IE: The less mass you have on your bike, the smaller the amount of force will be.

(Force = mass * acceleration)

If that is not enough conviction for you... try his first law of inertia instead:

"Every object remains in a state of rest or of uniform motion in a straight line unless acted upon by an outside force."

Or, an object at rest, will remain at rest unless acted upon by another force... complimentary to this, an object that is moving will continue moving indefinately until another force is applied to alter the momentum (this could be the object bouncing into another object and transferring momentum much like balls in a game of pool, or it could just be a simple matter of force and friction that gradually brings the object to a stop, like a golf ball rolling to a halt on the fairway)

So therefore, the more mass you have, the more momentum you will have, and thus the farther you'll fly. You make your bike light, and you'll be able to fly high... but not for very far. whatsthat.gif

Hope this helps... and good luck.

Thanks for the info, I tried to add a ton of mass and speed but messed up my handling big time. I scaled it down some and it's almost there. Still doesn't handle the way I'd like. Does anyone have any examples of what they use for stunts ect?

Thanks.

So far I've raised my weight (1000.0), lowered my drag multiplier (3.0) and turn mass (140.0) under general handling config, raised my max velocity (240.0) and engine acceleration(220.0) under engine and breaking, and raised my traction multiplier (3.5) and traction loss (1.9) under suspension for the NRG500.

The results I'm getting so far is extremely high jumps, better handling at top speed and able to plow through any vehicle on the road. It's fun for a few min to just hold down the acceleration and not let off, does some crazy stuff but the problems I'm running into with this config is that the bike always wants to pop up on the rear wheel when you hit the acceleration and cj stats to jitter at top speed. It would be nice to be able to slow him down a little as well for better handling in the city and still have him able to do high jumps.

This is a good config for just playing around but gets old after a few days. Does anyone have a good stunt config for the nrg500 that handles decently?

Thanks.

Edit:

Also I'm using the Noob mode 2.0 mod so I never fall off of the bike and bullet time for some difficult jumps.

to prevent popping up on the rear wheel, move the center of gravity more forward. That should put more weight on the front end and counter the torque that's making your bike pop up... either that, or reduce the traction bias and/or multiplier.

For the speed wobble, I'm not sure what to do about this... adjusting the center of gravity will have a definate effect on this tho I'm sure...

Anyone out there looking for info on what you can modify and description of each setting in handling.cfg does then you may want to check out this link: http://www.cheat-database.info/display/wal....phtml?id=28852

Also a link from Cerbera's posts to his definitions he has made for the handling.cfg
