I installed san andreas and got it running and when I play the game it is slow. Does anybody have any hints about how to make it run faster?

My system settings are:

Windows xp with service pack 2

Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV graphics controller 64 MB

Intel Pentium 4

248 MB of ram

When posting a problem, be sure to include the following information about your computer:

Operating system (XP users: be sure to mention if you have SP1 or SP2)

Video/Graphics card type + graphics memory

Processor

RAM (random access memory)

This will help us to identify the problem.

I made an update to my graphics card here a while back but the only problem is that I need more memory. Is there a way to download more memory.

No

TBH, the game is going to run slow unless you get a new computer. What speed is your processor?

Newegg.com RAM

The main problem right now is your on-board graphics card, it would probably best to invest in one. Make sure you either get a new one, or keep the on-board graphics you've got up to date, but you'll still have the same problem unfortunately.

What he said.

But to add to it. You're gonna want more RAM (as was suggested) along with a new video card. 512MB would be fine, 1GB would help a little more.

Well as you already got 256MB ram, id just buy another stick of 256MB ram. to make it 512MB. trust me on this one i did this and it worked wonders, but mind u i havent got on-board graphic i have a 128mb GFX card, so ill recommend buyin a graphics card and the same time then u shud be playin GTA:SA with no further problems

only problem is that u cannot run the game on highest settings

i run mine on

Draw Dis: Half

Frame Limiter: Off

MM: Off

AA: None

Visual Detail: Low (can be run on medium but may need to lower res)

Resolution: 1024x768x32 (lower it is the smoother, but mines fine on that)

My spec is

AMD Sempron 2600+ ~1.83Ghz

Foxconn WinFast K7S Motherbaord

2x256MB DDR 333FSB Ram (512MB Total)

128MB DDR 8x AGP ATi Radeon Pro RX9250

80GB Samsung Spin Point 5,400RPM HDD

5.1 Trust Sound Expert Digital Surround Soundcard
