xcronikx
Well today I got to ride in a friends new 05 Dodge Viper. Unreal. He picked me up and when we pulled out of my driveway we were doing 40 in about 1/4 block. Then when we got on the highway. We were doing about 110(in 4th mind you). He was just telling me about it then. It was running about 1100 rpm's in 4th. He was able to run it in 2nd, about 7500 rpm's, going about 60. Then we drove through town. This thing is a real head turner. Kids were yelling things to us. I think peoples heads turned all the way around as we drove by. Then when we got back out of town again, we let it go again...I dont know how fast because the needle was out of my sight but im guesing 125-130, maybe more. During acceleration there is no was u could lean forward to get someting off the dash or something in the glove box. NO WAY. Then the ride home....The corner into town which in a "normal" car you would take about 15-20 around the turn. We did 40. Handles great. At the stop sign then just a little gas and the tires were already slipping. Very loud car to. Awesome Car

Vanquish
Lol - mustve been fun. But according to most places (even Mr. Hennessey admitted), the Z06 is faster (than Coupe and Convertible). I'd have the Viper though ... Z06's are way too common. Although if I had a chance, I'd have neither. TVR Sagaris for me

Vanquish
No car can beat the experiance that the Viper can give you. It is the best car on the planet earth. Ive been in an SRT10 and it wasnt really very exciting. The engine was uninspiring and it wasn't particularly fast compared to some things ive riden in. Now lets take the TVR i mentioned as an example ... its a bombardment of the senses. Brutal sounding engine, thunderous acceleration (top and low end), cornering that'd make the Viper seem like a Fiat Panda. Until anyone has been in a TVR, you are not worthy of talking about automotive experiences The Diablo I went in was pretty awesome too. The Viper is by far not the best car in the world ... read some magazines
woodprior383
Umm... how about you read a dicitionary. Look up the word opinion and tell me what it says. The best thing about the TVR is the look... It is all downhill from there.
Vanquish
Maybe you should find the definition of "other peoples opinions". You could say that Fiat Pandas are the best cars ever ... does that mean i dont have the right to say I think your opinion is completley biased? And TVR have something called performance. Ummm ... 0-60 in 3.5 seconds from only 400bhp, good handling, character, comfortable interior, great driving position, doesnt sound like a pickup. Strange ... the Viper doesn't have any of that Edit: @xcronikx - Don't take what I'm saying the wrong way, im just laughing at fanboyism Im sure it was great and stuff, but Vipers aren't the best cars in the world. Nor are TVRs or just about anything else for that matter. Edited September 17, 2005 by Vanquish
JJHW
Viper = a bit tacky, not the GTS-R concept either, which is a shame... Sagaris = Beautifully designed and rediculous to be in, plus it has a perspex spoiler . Viper may be fast, but it doesn't sound much more exciting than 200SX or Porsche 928... +FF7F24+
I<love>AMG
Wow wow wow, guys, stop it! I don't know how about you, but I will give everything in my life just to have a Dodge Viper SRT-10 or TVR Sagaris in my garage, not in Fiat Panda though. Having one of these cars in a garage is a huge win! Com'on, let's say that some chick will ask you, "what is your ride?" "I have a Viper." She will be freaked out! She will be your girlfriend and your slave for the rest of your live. Now again: "Hey Tom, do you have a car?" "Yes, sure I do, I've got a Sagaris." Her: "what is that?" LOL She won't know.......why? Because TVR is not famous, only well knowledged people know this brand. Why again? Because they had afwul cars and they just didn't give "enough" to make people speak about them and know them. It's going to change now. I would go with a Viper though, I know it has a crappy interior, but I think it's much better compared to our 00 Grand Cherokee....LOL! So Viper for me, it's a pure american beast, the modern muscle car and nothing more or less. I will be the happiest person in the world owning this car. Sagaris is might be better, they say that TVR is getting better and better, especially after the russian guy bought the company. And the latest TVR (was it T350t?) is the best TVR ever made, but their interior just doesnt work for me. I was having a ride, but only for like 20 minutes in TVR T350c and I hated the interior since it looked so weird, I prefer classic styling...... So it's just the matter of personal opinion. Don't get offended. I was telling my opinion. Here are some cookies for both of you (still don't know what are these damn thing for)
JJHW
Errm, this is England, where TVR is based, if I told a girl I had a Viper they'd jsut go, 'What the f*ck is that?' On the other hand, were I to say I had a TVR, they'd be all, 'Wow, I love those, they're so nice.' Seriously, girls love them . +FF7F24+

But you probably know better than me and thats obvious that they know a TVR, since there are so many of those right there. I was speaking about USA/Europe though... kevin2006rhs
No, nothing can beat the ride of a 1934 Ford Coupe Street Rod. -Fuel injected and blown 429ci motor w/ 850hp. -21 in. wide streetlegal slicks -5 point harnes -open headers Pure and simple. Best out there. Some of the other greats I have driven or got a ride in: -1998 Viper - ride -2001 Corvett Z06 (owned by viper owner) - ride/driven -BMW M3 - Drive -1969 Camaro SS 500hp blown street/drag. - ride -Dodge Ram SRT-10 (Sensory Overload) - drive -Subaru Impreza STi - drive -Chevrolet K10 Blazer 10in lift offroad - ride -Jeep Cherokee w/ 350 swapout and 8inch superlift - drove -Ford Lightning - ride Not so fun: -2002 Chevy Venture - driven almost daily -1994 Chevy Cavalier - driven almost daily (I crashed it when i took it out at the age of 15) I use to work at a dealership. I got cars sometimes for weekends and such. It was always nice when we got a trad in that was tuned or just a really good and fast car. I also have a friend of the family that owns a viper and a vette. He doesnt have a family and lives in the same building as his business. So the money his business hakes is just about all his. -

kevin2006rhs
I have rode in a few imprezas since but it was the best. Dispite the AWD I love how you could get the wheels to spin with just a little effort. If I remember correctly the guy that traded the car in because he had to buy a house and needed the extra money. What an asshat. I would take it over just about anything right now.

Last year I was 1 month in England and Scotland and I was lucky enough to see at least 20 TVRs in London in one day! Thats pretty enough to say that there are so many of them (not full of them). I also saw at least 10 TVRs in Edinburgh and like 20 of them in the Scotland area. Basically I saw more TVRs than 911s in Europe in two weeks! That means that there are many of them. Sometimes its very hard to speak to some of you and I think I might using a dictionary in order to make you understand me correctly....

Vanquish
You are going to notice more TVRs because they look more spectacular. 911s are less exciting to look at so you'll have to be looking directly at it or be specifically looking for it to notice its there. And actually if i told a girl I had a Viper or any sportscar, they'd think that I care about cars more than women and that I have to mention my car to compensate for what you lack downstairs. I don't need a car to get me female attention ... obviously some people need all the help they can get.

Thats true, but in this modern world and in many cases girls are looking at the guy and if they see him as a poor, but smart, they will give up on him. At least the ones from well situated families. And when you drive a nice car, you are being noticed by much more girls instead of when you're walking on the street. There are just thing that can make you look fantastic. Many chicks care about your ride, 'cause they like your money instead of you and you like their asses instead of them.....

K_Speed
No car can beat the experiance that the Viper can give you. It is the best car on the planet earth. Viper. I loved the design of it and the mean strong look of it. when I was 10. Getting older learning more about cars, now I nkow what it is. Poor quality 8 liter engine with lots of plastic around it. just one of those horrible american made 8 liter waste gasolin engines. no technology just plain bullsh*t. You want a real ride? Take anice old F40 on the autobahn and floor the motherf*cker overtake the cops (they cant do sh*t to ya) and then floor it even more, f*ck........this feeling is amazing. viper, get a life and some class, please. dont mind the old hot rods, they were great then, but its over now dudes... seriously, it just disgusts me...... I<love>AMG
Viper is a supercar for "normal" people. Its the best car in this price range - 65k USD for used one. I know that I can buy used CL55/S55/E55 or new C55, but these are not supercars. Viper is a headturner, which is important for me, because I like getting noticed, it has nice sound and it's very, very fast. Its enough for me, I dont need carbon fiber interior and best build quality, I need speed and thats all, speed and adrenaline, not the whole bunch of safety systems and all that crap. For me Viper is a true modern muscle car/supercar and if I have 75k USD it would be my car! Right next to the CLS55 and Hummer H2 LINGENFELTER 500.... Vanquish
Everything you described above can be done better by a TVR. For half the price of a used Viper you can get a TVR Chimaera. Its louder and more muscular in sound than the Viper. The interior is better made. Its much faster. Its much more exotic looking. And as for loads of safety equipment ... the Viper has power steering that makes the steering feel numb. The TVR has barely any driver aids. No ABS, Traction Control, Power Steering ... I dont think it even has servo assisted brakes and definatley no airbags. Its lightweight and powerful AND has modern lightweight materials such as Carbon Fibre which is replaced by plastic in the Viper. I could also say the same for many other marques such as Marcos or Lotus.
SIP YEK NOD
just one of those horrible american made 8 liter waste gasolin engines. That made me laugh. Viper F40 HP 500 475 City Mileage(mpg) 12 12 Highway Mileage(mpg) 20 17 So, your example of a better car with its 2.9L engine wastes more gas than an "8 Liter waste gasoline engine" becuse they are 2 completely diffent engines. the 2.9L engine makes its power with a lot of gas in a small cylinder creating a bigger explosion. the 8 liter does it with nearly the same ammount of gas spread out over 10 cylinders creating slighly smaller explosions.
