I had nothing to do with the creation of that excellent model. This mod just allows you to lock a car into place in the back of it.

 

Also, I had nothing to do with creating Darkpactor, the tool that lets you use mods in existing saved games here - Demarest created it, website here:

When you get out of a chinook, a red arrow will appear above the chopper. If you drive a car into the middle and press handbreak, it will lock into place. You can tell its locked when you cannot drive forward or reverse anymore, hold break going forward and reverse, it will snap in eventually

 

To release your car, hold down the horn button and back out.

 

If the heli front end goes vertical, the car inside will detach and damage you. This mod gives a lot of leeway, but its not 100% perfect, because of how the game works.

 

The helicopter will now lose all references (meaning it becomes a normal car) after 2 minutes after you exit the chopper. Attaching a car, detaching a car, or getting out of the chinook will reset the timer again. This was done to save memory, assuming if you drive away for a very long time youre done for now.

 

A red arrow will appear above the heli to let you know when you can attach/detach. If you do not see it, then you must reboard the chinook and get out again to reset the timer.

 

To install, first backup your main.scm in your San Andreas/data/script folder.

Then copy over the main.scm in this zip. It's a stripped file (no missions) for testing that starts you off in the airport ith a parked chinook nearby.

 

This mod is free to distribute, and the code is free is to be implemented or edited into anything you wish, dont have to ask for permission.

 

Installation Instructions for Darkpactor version (taken from Demarests site):

1 Backup your /data/script/main.scm file.

2 Put DARKPACTchinookSA.SCM in /data/script/ and rename it to main.scm

3 Load your game. You will immediately be prompted to save.

4 Save (different slot is recommended).

5 Put mainORIGpluschinookSA.SCM in /data/script/ and rename it to main.scm

6 Load the save you made in step 4 to continue your game with Chinook Lock installed.

 

 

If you just want to test the mod first, and dont want to bother with saved games for now, use test_MAIN.scm. It will start you off in the Los Santos airport near a chinook spawn, and will have all of San Andreas unlocked for you to fly around testing the mod out. If the chinook doesnt spawn with you, just type "vrockpokey" to spawn a racecar, drive away a bit then come back. It should spawn.

I'll release it with instructions on how to use darkpactor on it (a creation by Demarest to let you use certain mods with your existing saved game)

 

Very nice works perfectly no problems do that and you will have one of the best mods iv seen colgate.gif

 

Edit: ok it seems to zoom in when pressing forwards then when it zooms right in the car goes crazy

 

 

 

How about an auto realse button so you can drop cars on people that would be kickass biggrin.gif

Are you sure the car hasn't detached? If you go at too steep an angle it will, the mod just lets you go faster (because of a steeper angle) than the default scm

 

I cant reproduce that without going at a very large angle and detaching, try and get that to happen again, and if the car goes crazy, hit back on the heli and see if the car falls out

Just checked the source code and nothing about Darkpact or this mod would slow a game down. Did you maybe add the heli model and not rebuild the archive?

Or did you leave the darkpactor file after putting it in, and not put the second file in or something???

The only side effects leaving a Darkpactor in will have is that you will not be able to interact with Firefighter (can't start it as well as no message telling you how to), you will not be able to start a new game, and starting any mission should crash the game.

Damn, the heli doesn't spin the blades!! like he's hitting somewhere u know? i even went to the airport and the same happened!!

i want this mod! seems very cool! any idea of what could be??

 

EDIT: the problem was the bomber mod that puts 2 bombs on every flying vehicle...

when i try to open the file after downloading i get the error message "the compressed (zipped) folder is invalid or corrupted"

I get the same message, if anyone has a working .zip version can you e-mail it to me Saphirefenix[at]hotmail.com (replace [at] with @)

Hey, sorry for the late response, I havent been to this website since August or September of 2005

 

I don't know why I just checked this site, but anyway I found this file on my little brother's computer (I'm home on predeployment leave)

 

I've sent it to saphirefenix, but I can't get anyone else's email address to show up to send it.

 

I can't get access to edit that zip on UFL's FTP to host it since I'm no longer a student there.
