Forfit
Hi again guys, im having trouble with my computer all the sudden out of nowhere about 2 days ago, my computer started running really slow and laggy when i boot up. I would hit CTRL ALT DEL and look at my cpu usage, and its sitting at 100% and never drops a number. and i view the processes tab and all the usage is going to EXPLORER.EXE, now i know this is an important file so how do i deal with it? Help me please SPECS: AMD athlon xp 3200+ 1Gb Ram 160Gb HDD ASUS A7V8X-LA mobo and so on.
Tornado Rex
Have you done Wolf's Scans™ (Spybot, Ad-aware, virus, hijack this...IIRC)? ~ Proud Supporter of the Child's Play Charity! | GTANET + Child's Play ~
Forfit
Yes i have done those and came up with nothing, im sure they are not virus, spyware related Im still doing research on the net and some say it has to do with AVI file and registry keys? Tornado Rex
Start > Run... > msconfig Make sure everything in there is like, needed. That'll always whore out your startup. ~ Proud Supporter of the Child's Play Charity! | GTANET + Child's Play ~
Forfit
Yeah im REALLY picky about that..... I only have the applications checked that are needed for startup, and then Norton, MS Antispyware and Nvidia drivers are the only other ones i have checked for startup

Bond996
Having you simply tried killing explorer and restarting it with the Run command?
Forfit
Having you simply tried killing explorer and restarting it with the Run command? Yeah.... So im deciding that it is Conflicting with my Audio hardware/software now. I bought a stupid chaintech soundcard that was dead so i returned it and got a SB Live! and this card works but now its tripping out my explorer.exe and dont know why. and after awhile i get an error saying i have no audio device installed so then i have to reinstall my drivers. Any other suggestions as to why? @wolf: yes.

Forfit
Yes most definately. What im going to try right now is to install these SB drivers customly, so i know what im putting on instead of a full install. and then i will see if anything else conflicts. EDIT: Well nevermind that...it has nothing to do with drivers i guess because the are uninstalled and still having the problem. ive tried about 3 different things that ive read about through googling and nothing works.
