Well, I'm not sure of the specifics of that program, but I should imagine that it could be circumvented by one of the following methods:

a. look for any processes in task manager associated with it, then kill them, and prevent them opening at startup with msconfig.

b. try using a different browser, such as firefox.

c. try using a web-based proxy, such as anonymouse.org (there's loads and loads available, just google for them)

It looks rather simple to me...

Just click "English", then enter an URL ( without removing the http:// ) and hit enter.

I am pretty sure you should be able to delete "cybersister".

Go to this page, type the address of the site you want to go to in the box, then click 'surf anonymously'- if that's blocked there's many other site that do the same thing, or you could use a proxy like one of these

Don't take this wrong way and I seriously want to help but.... LOL cybersitter. Dude I'm sorry, really but that is just damn funny.

As for uninstalling it. Start up in Safe Mode and if you're running something like an HP or Dell machine with XP Home installed, select the Admin account and there shouldn't be a password on it....most users don't think about it and never bother to set a password on it, hell they don't even know it's there.

Look in Cybersitter's folder, where ever that is, and see if there is an uninstall exe in there.

The web site only mentions an uinstall options within Cybersitter on the Tools page. More than likely to get that far you need the "parent" password, which is meant to keep little kids *snicker..sorry* from being able do mess with the settings.

Your dad found you looking at porn and he got mad, then started using Cybersitter? How old are you (just out of curiosity)?

Do you know how to start up in Safe Mode? When you start up your system press the F8 key. You'll get a menu to choose from, pick Safe Mode and hit enter twice. You should see a bunch of lines of text go by, ignore it.

When you get to the login screen there should be an Admin account and hope that you'll end up just getting in without a password. If not then login with your normal account.

I don't know where Cybersitter is installed and I'd rather not install it on my system just to find out. But try C:\Program Files\Cybersitter

Look for an uninstall exe. It could be labled as "uninstall" "notwise" "remove" or something else, again I don't know and I'm not going to install it to find out.

I might try later with a virtualPC, but don't expect anything too soon.

If you can get to MajorGeeks.com see if this helps at all http://www.majorgeeks.com/RemoveIt_d3839.html

There are others and I have no idea if this one or any of the others will work, most of them work off of the Add/Remove list or take a snapshot of your system before the program installed so you can find out exactly what for written where (to the harddrive and the Registry).

Why am I not getting paid for this crap?

I've got a list of all of the files and reg entries it writes. But there is a minor catch, there are some registry entries found under HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Now if you and dad have different accounts and he installed Cybersitter under his account then unless you can figure out his password then you can't delete the keys for his account but you should be able do so with your account.

I want it known first, if you screw up or yur dad wipes your a** for screwing up and/or for removing Cybersitter, I take NO responsiblity.

Delete these registry keys - don't worry about any settings within each key, they need to be deleted too. ONLY DELETE THESE KEYS

Tell your dad that the purpose of the Internet is porn. So he is actually denying the existance of the Internet.

Other stuff like Wikipedia, Slashdot, etc. just got along in the ride.

Yes, there are a lot of websites without porn, and it shouldn't surprise me if you can do a whole day of surfing without going to a porn site.

The links, you know, kinda float.

Yeah but, what's the point in opening the browser then? dontgetit.gif

IMO your best bet is to do some digging and find his porn folder. After that's done, kindly ask him to remove Cybersitter. If he refuses simply say "C:\path\to\his\porn". He'll most likely agree to your terms.
