Augh
Then really it's time to learn how GTA materials actually work in your program of choice. That's about what this is coming down to. Grab a tut and get cracking is the way forward.

Augh
I actually meant the tutorial forum here on gtaf for gta specific materials, otherwise googling is where you start. Most all of us are self taught, the only way to answer most 3d questions quickly and easily is learn for yourself about what factors cause the thing you're wondering about. This thing about reflections is a good example, it could mean anything. The way to not have horrible reflections in max is to not add horrible reflections. But we're working backwards here since you're modifying cars without having learnt basics first. So short answer don't add a horrible reflection (somewhat useless), slightly longer answer remove the reflection in the material editor for that material. But that doesn't do much for you at the game end of things except make the car dark and matte ingame see? Just take it one step at a time, and you'll do ok
