I don't like it from those pics, looks like it will hurt my wrist or something. I have to say the PS3 is looking the best for controller, once again. But I haven’t played with this "2050 future generation controller" so I will have to see this in action.

They sure will be getting people talking more about the controller then the console turn.gif But PS 3 is coming home, so screw Revolution for me.

10 year olds will once again enjoy Nintendo with this controller, other then the few other games they got.

After reading both articles, im still thinking "WTF!?!?".

Let's summarize a bit, it's small, wireless, has rumble functionality, expandable, and a new little revolutionary feauture. This little controller might change the way we play in the next NEXT generation as I don't think MS and Sony will redesign their controllers just for the current next gen.

Basically what it is is the controller has a transmitter at the top. What it does is it allows you to control the game just by pointing at your TV. The reason this is "revolutionary" is basically because it allows you to move within 3D worlds etc. just by pointing and can make for some interesting game mechanics. Also it will know how far away you pointing and if you come closer or not. Some examples Gamespot saw are pretty cool, such as holding the controller like a paper airplane and controlling a plane on screen, or fishing by pointing and flicking you wrist to throw the fishing line. Playing games can allow more movement and interaction with the game.

Yeah it's cool and all, but I doubt they'll get much support from developers. The reason? I don't think they're ready for it yet. This seems like it should be more into the future when we having flying cars and virtual sexy ladies in our rooms. They'll have change the way they make games because it's different from your standard controls. I may be wrong, after all I don't know jack about programming, but that's my logical guess.

All I can say at this moment is if and only if they have a good price and some good games coming out, then I might buy it. I love the whole pointing thing, but I don't see it being utilized by developers yet. It's the same thing with the DS. I thought I was going to buy one until I saw the graphics and the horrible support from developers. They only have a couple of games that really use the touch screen like it should be (ex: Nintendogs).

Anyway, the articles are worth reading to get a better understanding.

This is going to make some programmers bang their heads against the wall. Gyroscopes and pointing != Fun for tech monkies.

Who would have thought the downfall of the next gen Nintendo would come before it was released. Sad. I wonder what it would be like playing a slpit in half PS2 or X-Box controller? Nevermind.

Come on now, I wouldn't say that.

Nintendo still > All.

Anyone old enough to remember who brought you the original Mario, Zelda, Metroid, and other assorted other games should have at least a bit of faith in the company.

It may flop, it may be a huge success. Kudos to them for taking a risk... Nothing wrong with a little Revolutionizing. wink.gif

Meh, I guess I'm the only one excited about this.

I think it's a cool idea, games these days are actually getting boring, they're all basically the same. I love Nintendo for trying to change this, so Ninty, you've still got one supporter. inlove.gif

It actually looks like some futurisitic hospital call or morphine release controller thing or even the wacky in-flight entertainment dohickey's you get on most airliners.

If this can actually work well for first person and third person perspectives, then I commend Nintendo for breaking away from the typical Xbox-playstation analog stick nightmare. But still, I think they could do better than something that looks like a damn tv remote.

I really don't know what to expect from this, but it's Nintendo, surely they can't f*ck it up that badly.

I bet they'll bundle the revolution with morphene, it'll be the only way you could feel happy about making such as stupid purchase wink.gif

hey, this actually could work for shooters, you know.

Yeah, but pointing a TV remote at the bad guys and pressing a button to kill them just wouldn't feel right.

And you'd have psychos trying to shoot up supermarkets with their TV remote.

Before you say anything get this. Foxtel Digital has games, and you play them with your remote. You know what? It's f*cking annoying as hell to play these games I tell you, this will fail.

As always Nintendo is at the forefront of the evolution of gaming but this isnt a step forwards at all, more like sideways standing on your head. It's poor ideas like this that will get them the 'Wow's and the 'Oooo's' they so desperatly crave. But it's also the reason the Revolution will be the latest console that only the dumbest of parents will purchase and anyone at any age has the right to throw their teddy in the corner when presented with another thoughtless present.

I had hopes for the revolution, had being the operative word surely ffs they done some market research, The Jap leading em must have some stupid f*cking yes men around him.

Looks wierd but you never know! This could revolutionise gaming, they did it with the analogue sticks. People probably thought they were stupid, I can see how this would rock, but I also see the pain of programming for the Revolution.

The main reason I don't like this is because 3rd-party gaming companies would not want to program for such a device. If it does what I think it does confused.gif.

Well another problem with it is how the f*ck are you going to be able to reach those bottom buttons with one hand? It couldnt be more awarkward, apparently the PS3's controller is nothing more than a concept trying to gauge public response. I imagine this may be going down those lines as well.
