dcole25
Hey all. I have been wondering recently where the Shoreside Vale tunnels go (you know, the blocked ones). I was thinking that they might of collapsed in the building of the dam. Any other theories?
Canoxa
That's why GTA3 is a great game, and I enjoy it better than San Andreas: the little things. A city has to be connected to others, right? Isn't an island a little boring? My theory is that it conencts t another place.
ThunderPower
Ghost Town. Anyone who flies to the Ghost Town will see that there is a one half of a huge mountain.
GritSandWiches4Breakfest
It's just there as scenary basicly. It just makes it basicly more real because in real life theres should be a bridge that connects, too.
da gta master
I think originally they were going to put another small town in but didnt have enough room, so took out all of it except ghost town. That would explain why the bank says Liberty City Bank. And in GTA Liberty City Stories Shorside VAle is extended with this new town. So I think that explains it. ATK
I was thinking that they might of collapsed in the building of the dam. Any other theories? I dont think this could have happened because there is only one tunnel that is near the dam. The other is behind the cartel mansion
dcole25
@ ATK - Yes, but looking inside the tunnels they have piles of dirt inside and they also curve towards each other, hinting that they meet up

When you look through the tunnels the dirt is not that far away from the entrance. The chanses of the piles of dirt reaching from the dam all the way to the entance of the 2nd tunnel is very low. Craig Kostelecky
The tunnels go north. Where north was never officially decided though. While it's true that the "ghost town" is back there, that bank isn't meant to really exist in that part of the map. Rockstar just had to stick the area used in the opening cutscene somewhere. So they put it where they didn't think anybody could get. But many people did find it and the theories started rolling in. Much like Donald Love's disappearance, there isn't meant to be an answer. It's just one of the many open ends that Rockstar left in GTA3. It may be answered in a future game though.
helegad133
You know in Lips 106, when Andee mentions Carser City and the corrupt police chief, I think that Carser is joined to Liberty by that tunnel! I don't know where, but I've read somewhere that Carser City is real and is next to Liberty in real life. This could be wrong, but I'm 50/50% sure. GTA_kev
The tunnels take you straight to Carser City and way past San Fierro mind the right that you take when you get the highway. Or better yet if you want to honest they take you nowhere in the game because it's <gasp> blocked!
PigManDan
the tunnels take you to some words in a big empty space:
jcab42
You newbies need to read Craig's post. Furthermore, Carcer (as it's actually spelled) is the city that the game Manhunt takes place in, so if you want to go to Carcer City then buy the game Manhunt. ATK
Any ideas on where to get Manhunt SINCE IT'S BANNED IN AUSTRALIA!!?? I guess you will have to take a plane from "Down Under" to america so you could pay $15 for it then fly back. And you go your Manhunt!! Only cost you a few hundred bucks
dcole25
You know, that won't work right? If we Aussies are that desperate to get it we should fly to Bali or somewhere, for two reasons. 1, its cheaper. 2, you crazy Americans decide to use a format that is different to the rest of the world. PAL ROCKS! DOWN WITH NTSC! EDIT:Actually, I just saw the news. Don't go to Bali. Try Singapore, or Thailand instead. Games-master
I think Demarest already told you where you can get it. Try ebay, amazon etc..
Kinda Koolies
Before any of us get a warning or something, i think we should get back to the topic at hand... ...try looking for a map of New York, since the game is based off it, and try looking for any tunnels near the island there. It's might not be the exact same map as in the game, but it's the best i can think of.
ThunderPower
Well, since not many people realize that this is based off of three islands off the coast of New York, here I go.. Shoreside Vale = Long Island(hence being huge and suburban) Staunton Island = Manhattan(hence being a city with alot of a business and skyscrapers) Portland = Staten Island(hence the industrial-ness) Thank you.
