I dont care what happens to the conversions, i dont care if the only way to get him back is to have him never release a conversion through GTANet again, thats fine with me, as long as he is unbanned. *edit* i would also like any member who dosn't know/understand everything about the scratch/conversion war and about Silver007 himself to stay out of this. The rules didn't need to say gtagarage explicity. that is, as you said, common sense. its silvers actions DUE to his lack of common sense that got him banned. He somehow got it in his head, that gtaf is cracking down on conversions. he managed to grasp the first concept. but how he got it in his head, that gtag, gtaf's sister site, on the same network, would NOT (???!?!?!?) follow any of the same rules, i'll never understand. but as you said, we dont ban for a "lack of common sense". thats correct. i banned him for his 9-unauthorized conversions that, if he HAD any common sense, he wouldnt have posted @ gtag. This place is not run by, nor are its rules written by lawyers. we are not going to spell out every little single last detail, and explicity state how it interacts with every other part of gtanet. if common sense is something that some members dont have, they will have to deal with that as it comes up. in silvers case it cost him his member ship. When i ban someone, its permanent (except for temp-bans, which i rarely if ever give). Silver is not coming back. he has his own forums, go cry over there, since im sure he could use a few more members. @LukeI guess, but if we banned him it might start another "unban whatshisface" thread. For a second I was worried. And as ashdexx said, the intent of the rules is more important than their exact wording. The same way the rules say PM recruitment is against the rules, but recruiting over MSN, IRC, or any other means of communication is still bannable. Should all of the rules be more specific? Maybe. Does it matter? No. Just because a rule is not specific enough for someone, doesn't mean that they can get away with doing what it was obviously indended to stop. (EDIT) Finally. I never liked him. The fact is that they both knowingly broke the rules and got what was coming to them. You can bitch and moan all you want, but at the end of the day your banning won't mean sh*t either.
