Mxyzptlk
Good find... I like how the author tries to make the fact that it's San Andreas as the reason for the violence.
MI7
As usual, more bullsh*t whipped up by the media to discourage GTA. If those kids were so retarded to do that in the first place they deserve whatever they get. Get Connected.
original gangster
All that over a gta game and now, people will say just because the game was gta, that it influences this stuff. Which is probably true, it does influence some violence, but what mature rated game doesn't? i still can't believe it though, that all that over a game

LLD
Both bullies should be shot in the head. Seriously, they are screwing over Video Game Markets AGAIN. Also, how could you stab someone over a videogame? If you can't afford the game you probably can't afford the PS2/XBOX/Computer. Welfare Bullies make me mad. Kingjad
Should we point and laugh at MI7 for knowing an awful lot about these magazines? Anyway, I uploaded it as Kippy pointed out in first post (with helpful reminder by me), I was shocked to see Metro slate it as 'ultra-violent', shows who's side they're on. No question raised of why the boy had an 18-rated game when he was just 13 years of age, no question raised about that at all... P.S. Just seen new emoticons, fantastic stuff! Tongue of Colicab
Sad. The article does try to blame SA, but I read it, and carefully. It did influence the act, however, not directly. The kids stabbed him because they wanted the game. The desire for the game killed him. Desire of drugs have killed a few people. This doesn't look good. Kingjad
This reminds me of an incident where a murder occured, and the reason given was 'he ate my pie'. This is a Scottish tale of course, and is genuine - so a murder was caused because of a small round hot pie, should pies be banned too?!? It's London, murder happens an awful lot, this just involved GTA so gets extra attention.

Dodge Boy City
If you can't stand up to bullies you are a wuss. Plain and simple. But hey, what do I know about people 2 years younger than me. It doesn't always work like that i'm afraid. I suppose when you're that young, a 2 year age difference can be a lot - especially if there's two lads that are a lot bigger than you... The point i want to make is, the age old argument of, "Why was the boy allowed a copy of GTA San Andreas anyway?" If his Dad was that caring, surely he would be a bit wary of his 13 year old son playing an 18+ rated game? This in no way excuses what the bullies did... And for £20 and a copy of a Video Game?! Ridiculous...

JasonB
Why dont that pussy kid fight back!He didnt and now his father is dead, bravo *claps hands* Oh yeah, it's all the kids fault. It's his fault that some assholes thought that they could be self-righteous bitches and blackmail some little kid out of HIS PROPERTY. So the kids father steps in to stand up for his son and stop some sh*t going down. So the assholes think they'll be tough sh*t and stab him. And that's the kids fault how. Ooh he didn't stand up for himself, how the hell do you know that? Where in the article did it say the kid took it like a bitch? And what if he was scrawny and the other two guys were tank. You really are stupid you know that.
YeTi
Nice find. It's typical of bullying and people trying to make a big fuss out of "violent" games. If the kids wanted the game that badly and they hadn't got the money for it why not go and steal it? They just wanted to bully someone else into doing it for them. Also someone brought up a good point can't remember their name though. Why wasn't anybody questioning the fact that a 13 year old had got the game? R.I.P. Carrotfoot
Also someone brought up a good point can't remember their name though. Why wasn't anybody questioning the fact that a 13 year old had got the game? Because no one gives a sh*t? I got GTA3 the christmas it came out, and I'm nearly 16 now... I can't be bothered to work it out. I was about 12 when I got it. I'm not particularly violent, and when I am, it has nothing to do with that game. So that excuse is sh*t. The bullies were c*nts, I can't understand why anyone would want to blackmail some poor kid then kill his father. Now you made me angry, excuse me while I go kill some random 'ped.' Only kidding... El_Venezolano
...why wont they face the fact that video games are not a reason for under-aged violence... I know most of you should find this insident horribly incredible. I've seen violence in all it's ways every they of life since I was 4. I can honestly say that video games are not to blame unless the person who plays it has a mental unstability or something of the sort.
spaceeinstein
I wonder, when was the last time the public media actually supported GTA? Most of the media seems to be against it. No one is saying the good stuff of GTA, like being a paramedic, anti-drug scenes, being a taxi driver, ability to buy clothes, and such. Not one public media is congradulating Rockstar's hard work in creating this piece of artwork! People always focused on the bad stuff and not the good stuff! There are ten times more good stuff than bad stuff. The only bad stuff you do in this game is senseless killing.
