tommiegunz
Well I was watching the news, in that the ANWB (Direct link to article+pics)(that is the Dutch "mother" of everything which has wheels and engine powered) says the never saw a that unsafe car as the ChineseLandwind in the 20 years of testing. Even at speeds of 60 km/h , that's about 25 or 28 mp/h in a crash that car could be fatal. VERY unsafe if can kill at that low speed. I don't have anything against Chinese, Asians or actually nobody (well in exeption of one, I seriously want to have him DEAD, serious.) The Dutch distributer says he's shocked from the news (logically) and said it will call the 100 sold vehicle's back. Well let's hope the car is going to be safe after some drastic "sugery" . Anyhow pics: There are also video's availible on that ANWB site (check the first link, and scroll down-->'Video crashtest.....' kevin2006rhs
Fun....I bet the rollover or side crash test are even more intresting. I rolled a many times and still came out with less internal damage than this car did. That is sad
D-Structo
damn. this looks nasty, even considering it's just a crash test dummy. better not to think how would it look with a real human inside... ouch. i have never thought that those Chinese cars are safe. now i have the ultimate proof. and remember that people are usually going much faster than 60 kph... Captain Keyes
Well you can't expect too much if you're buying what looks like a blatant rip-off of the old Isuzu Rodeo/Honda Passport, both of which are outdated and discontinued.
Trueno_Drifter86
Jesus! Thats amazingly crappy car! Only 100 to be recalled? I guess it wasn't to popular to begin with. Trueno
Fozzy Fozborne
It's like they're trying to find a way to cut down on their population . Just kidding, but isn't that based on the GMC Jimmy/Chevy Blazer/Rodeo? They got decent crash test scores, and vastly better than this car . Cran.
It looks alot like a GMC something/Isuzu Rodeo, so I bet it's another one of the balant chinese rip offs. I do not envy whoever crashes in THAT car.

*gta star*
I definately wouldn't like to be in that car, a seatbelt isn't much use anyway to that dummy or a human.

Well actually, the front is from the Ford Ranger.... or at least a Ford. (Trueno_Drifter86 Posted on Sep 14 2005, 21:55) Jesus! Thats amazingly crappy car! Well, there are not more sold . (kevin2006rhs Posted on Sep 14 2005, 19:08) Fun....I bet the rollover or side crash test are even more intresting. That would be quite interesting indeed . Well I bet the car would land 30 meters further .

Wheelman
Even at speeds of 60 km/h , that's about 25 or 28 mp/h in a crash that car could be fatal. It's just over 37 mph. But regardless of the speed, those crash test results are pretty horrific. SUVs aren't at all safe anyway, but that takes the biscuit.

Mega
Isuzu Rodeo, Honda Passport are all based on GM Opel/Vauxhall Frontera first gen. Actually, this car is a rip-off, a REAL rip off, i.e. GM intended a lawsuit against JMC for copying the shell and design. What the Chinese did, they took the body of a Passport and they copied it without asking GM a single thing. As it's a rip off and not a licensed body model (like a lot of manufacturers do, eg: Montero Pajero), so the safety is not GM but chinese. You see the results. Signature soon. Wheelman
*unsafe to the drivers in other cars The difference being? Having a two-ton battering ram on a ladder chassis does not a safe vehicle make. Because when people start dying as a result of being crushed in accidents with SUVs, they buy an SUV themselves. And what happens when two SUVs collide? It's the same as two proper cars colliding, but as a result of the increased energy, mass, momentum, and mis-matched bumper/chassis heights, it's much, much messier. There's also a crash test video of a Nissan Patrol slamming into the side of a VW Golf. Predictably, the Patrol driver killed the Golf driver. Less predictably, the Patrol driver had horrific injuries himself, including splitting his head open on the window sill as the bulk and subsequent rigidity of the SUV failed to abosrb any of the impact. Or at least, the crash test dummies reported back as such. If I was going to hit something, I'd rather do it in something with less weight behind it (lighter things stop more easily) and something that can crumple and absorb the impact (rather than acting as a battering ram and transferring all the energy of the impact & deceleration onto me). but in our crusade against the american lifestyle, i bet you didn't see that
