Hey I need a program that can quickly transfer written text to typed text on the computer.I know theres a voice one where your read it out and it types for you but is there one thats faster like scanning it in and it typing it for you.

I need this because I do all my class work on paper( my school is very technology deprived) like draft stuff then need to get on the pc to finish it off add pictures ect and mindless typing is boring and takes ages. yawn.gif

All Help Appreciated colgate.gif

Do you have a scanner?

Many scanners come with OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software.

But if you're didn't and you need one try this http://www.simpleocr.com/ I have no idea how good this one is or if it'll work with your scanner (since you didn't say if you even had one or not) but it's free.

In my experience with OCR, using 'ABBYY Fine Reader', it isn't even perfect at picking up printed text, let alone anything handwritten.. I would be very suprised if any ocr programs at the moment could pick up handwriting accurately enough that you wouldn't have to spend just as much time finding mistakes as you would typing it out in the first place. However, if all you want to do is add images, then you could just scan the handwritten text as an image, then use an image editing program to rearrange the text and put pictures in..
