ps2 car reflections

hey people, im new and i need help with a mod i was hoping to make, but i can't figure it out, i want to make the reflections on cars look like the reflections on the ps2 version because it looks shinier and better, can anyone help me with this? thanks

no. you'd have to edit the shaders the game uses, which are inside the exe/slus on ps2 (editing exe isn't really possible).

the vehicle.txd just controls the images, which are already identical to the ps2 ones. R* coded the game differently, so there was one image it no longer uses for reflections.

the image is there, its vehiclespecdot64. you can place it over either other reflection image (xvehicleenv128 (body textures on cars), or vehicleenvmap128 (glass and chrome)). but when you place it over the other reflection images, it wont look the same. Like i said, they coded the game a bit differnetly for the PC. so instead of using the vehiclespecdot64 image for a reflection, it does per-vertex specular lighting, which is technically more accurate.

that "whiteish clear reflection" isn't an image, its specular lighting, data thats calculated based on how you look at the car, and the position of the world light. but there is no image for it. its based on math. the only control for it, is the intensity setting, and thats stored in each material of the vehicles.
