Back on shelves

San Andreas is back on shelves after a 2-month absense. The code has since been removed from the Xbox and PS2 SCM's and the 1.1 patch applied to the PC version. I'm glad I got my copy on June 7th, because that 1.1 patch sucks and blocks all memory hacks. (Mission Loader, Trainers, telporter, spawner, admin console, etc...) Also the game is now rated M again.

You do relise the game doesn't block the use of trainers, spawners, etc. it just stops the current versions of these programs working due to the new slightly changed .exe. Once these programs are updated they will once again work with the game. Also the patch does more then remove "Hot Coffee" so it doesn't really "suck" really just isn't for everyone atm.

ask my friend google.

or look in the manual, and it tells all. actually, as long as your computer is fast, it should be able to cope.

Did anyone catch that thing on Tech-TV where houser said that they added something different to the game?

Nope but I'm curious to know what your talking about. Well I'm glad you guys can now buy it, that means it's now legal in Australia?

Also the patch does more then remove "Hot Coffee" so it doesn't really "suck" really just isn't for everyone atm.

And for those wondering what the changes are, here is the Changes.txt that comes bundled with the patch.

----------------------------------    - GRAND THEFT AUTO: San Andreas  -    -        PC version 1.01         -    -         Patch Changes          -    -       5th August 2005          -    ----------------------------------- Previous save games carry over with no issues.              ***********              * CAUTION *              ************************************************************        Settings files have changed           **                                              **        On first run of version 1.01          **   your settings will be reset to default!    *************************************************INSTALLATION--------------- Launch the updater EXE file.- Confirm that you are using the correct updater for the specific version of GRAND THEFT AUTO: San Andreas you are using.- Use the file requester to locate the directory where you installed GRAND THEFT AUTO: San Andreas (the directory which contains the gta_sa.exe file).- If the updater recognises the gta_sa.exe file as the correct version, it will begin the update process.- To confirm that you are using the updated version, we display the version number 1.01 on the main menu page.ADDITIONS------------ Added support for 720p and 1080i HDTV resolutions (may also do 1080p, not sure).- Version Number displayed on game title screen.BUGS FIXED------------- Issue fixed on machines where the OS has been updated (one OS installed over top of another) and has 2 registry keys that point to the users "My Documents" folder (we incorrectly used to assume the Win2000 folder, now correctly uses the last installed OS folder) - users know this as "user account period bug".- Crash when entering advanced display options with only 32 meg of video ram (32 meg of video ram is not supported and will only allow use of 640*480 in 16 and 32 bit. At this resolution it is likely you will see the "Black Roads" LOD problem). We do NOT however disallow machines with 32 meg of video ram from running GRAND THEFT AUTO: San Andreas.- Crash when entering advanced display options on a dual monitor machine after :- starting game on primary monitor in maximum resolution, exiting, starting again in maximum resolution on secondary monitor. Secondary monitor maximum resolution had to be greater than maximum resolution of primary monitor.- Destroyed cars now are correct colour.- Dirty cars now able to get clean.- Numpad 5 key is now mappable when re-defining controls.- Issue on all machines where certain collisions caused parts of the audio system to crash (sound effects, cutscene audio - only radio keeps going) - users know this as "Rain / Thunderstorm bug".- Improvements to DVD streaming.- Audio problems in interior / exterior transitions and getting in / out of cars fixed.- Some fixes to ensure reverb is not present at certain save points.- Improvements to dance game timings.- Crash occuring when using "user radio files" while the frame limiter is disabled.

No, but water will clean your car off (if you graphics are set to medium or above)

yah thanks ,looks like im not getting it after all,id need to upgrade. dammmit

Just get the game and upgrade later

If I waited to buy a game until my system could handle it easily, I would have never got BFV when I had an AMD Thunderbird 900Mhz...I also wouldn't have BF2 now.

Unless you're system is so old the only game it can handle is Tetris or Minesweeper, in which case I would say 'yeah don't bother', then go ahead and get it now before some other a-hole in the goverment thinks of some other BS reason to get the game off of the shelves but this time for good.
