darthYENIK
No come on, the real Cy Young no brainer is Bartolo Colon, and I'm not just saying this because I'm an Angels fan. Buehrle is good. But just compare his stats to Colon's. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/215412-mlb-discussion/?do=findComment&comment=3243455 Share on other sites
anuj
AL MVP - Alex Rodriguez - He may not have as great numbers as Ortiz, but he's out there every single day playing both parts of the inning. NL MVP - Albert Pujols - STL Bias, but I'm one of those people who thinks an MVP/Cy should be the cornerstone of a great team. Jones would definitely be my second choice if I didn't bleed Cardinal red, that guy had an insane season. NL Cy Young - Close, but Carpenter. (STL!) Dontrelle would've sealed it if he could've won his last decision, but since he didn't, I'm leaning towards Chris. AL Cy Young - f*ck if I know. I don't follow AL pitchers. Summary of today's games: Cards win over Padres, 8-5. When Sanders hit that grand slam, I swear I felt a shockwave eight miles away from the stadium. White takes Red behind the woodshed, 14-2. Who didn't homer in that game? Jesus f*ck, the Red Sox took it hard. Anally. Without lube. From a team that has a chainsaw for a dick. NYY edges out LAA, 4-2. Didn't watch, but the highlights convinced me that... nobody cared about the game. darthYENIK
The yankees usually smash colon. Tonight will be a different story. Lackey will be on the mound, and wont let Colon's mistakes become his own. Captain Keyes
So much for a low-scoring game in Atlanta. Houston wins 10-5, with Ensberg driving in 5 runs. Chipper and Andruw Jones both homered for the Braves. Tomorrow's game featuring Clemens vs. Smoltz might be rained out by tropical storm Tammy. Cuse510
ChiSox win again. Will they actually win a playoff series????????? I wouldn't bet against them up 2-0 in a best of 5, but they are playing the RedSox, who have overcome much greater odds... _NightHawk_
AL MVP: A-Rod... Come on, The Big Poopi can't play everyday at first... NL MVP: Andruw Jones... Need I explain? AL Cy Young: Mark Burhle(SP?) Great stuff this year. NL Cy Young: Dontrelle "D-Train" Willis- Great season! AL RoTY: Cano, great numbers and only played half the season NL RoTY: Francoeur, great kid Comeback Player of the Year: Toss-up Between Giambi and Sexson. Just because they made history once doesn't mean they'll do it twice in one year: I forgot to put in my brackets. ALDS NYY v Anaheim - NYY in five CHI v BOS - CHI in three NLDS STL v SD - STL in three ATL v HOU - Houston in five ALCS - CHI v NYY - CHI in six NLCS - STL v HOU - STL in five WS - STL v CHI - STL in six or seven. I can't decide. But the series alone will kick severe amounts of ass. darthYENIK
Angels and Yankees go to new york, after the Angels tied the series. Thanks to a two RBI single by Orlando Cabrera. I told you guys. The yanks kill colon. But after that, the angel are a notch up. The thing I can't stand is the commentary guy being stumped why the Angels were hitting grounders. that's how they play, they try to keep it low, fast, and in the gaps. BrassKnuckles
Well, in case anyone didn't hear my crying and wailing over the many miles of space, the Red Sox just bungled again. Bungled it the Buckner way, if you saw the game. Back to Fenway for game 3, and with any luck, game 4. f*cking Japanese dude. Bartleby
Is anyone watching the Braves/Astros game??Their at the top of the 18th inning breaking the record for most innings playd in a post season and division series game. I've been watching it since around the 5th. It's amazing that after what could be considered a full second game, no one has scored at all. I'm pulling for the Astros, so I hope guys like Bagwell or Ausmus finally break through soon. And you've got to feel for the fans. They've been there for over five hours now. I don't think I could stand that. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/215412-mlb-discussion/?do=findComment&comment=3254447 Share on other sites
Captain Keyes
18 innings and 6 hours that I could've spent doing homework. I don't have ESPN so I've been listening to this game since noon, and it just ended on rookie Chris Burke's homer. It was bizarre looking up and down the box score and seeing all the Houston bench players in the game and playing all out of position. Problem with that was Garner had taken out a lot of his power bats like Berkman and Lamb, which was probably why it took them so long to finally score. Looks like we'll be having a NLCS rematch between the Cards and Astros. BrassKnuckles
With the BoSox out, I find myself cheering, ironically, for the White Sox. They've got a curse to put an end to--at 88 years a longer curse, in fact, than that of Boston. So I've given up my grudge. Hit 'em up, Japanese dude. I was a little miffed at the Braves for falling so easily. And I was a little happy that Randy Johnson, the big unit, was such a big idiot. darthYENIK
Wasn't the braves astros game the only post season game to have two grandslams also? Anyway, it sucks because if the Angels and yankees go 5 games, the Angels will have to play Colon, and the Yankees kill off him. Cuse510
The reason why they lost is cuz they didn't play Matt Lawton at all. Well, should be an interesting between the Angels and the ChiSox. My cousin is somehow related to one of the partial owners of the team, so I think I'm going to Game 1 with him tomorow. Should be pretty nice seats Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/215412-mlb-discussion/?do=findComment&comment=3257310 Share on other sites
darthYENIK
I was at Angels statium tonight. My dad and brother's boss has a suite. It was f*cking explosive there. Standing room only. Santana started out shakey, but nailed them for the rest of the game. The best part was the whole thing was free for me. Free drinks, free pizza, free hotdogs, free burgers, free sundaes, free seat to a great game. Cuse510
I'm goin to the game tonight, w00t I saw the Cubs play in the NLCS in 2003, so I'm guessing this should be a pretty similar atmosphere. darthYENIK
Who knows with two of the Angels best starting pitchers out for who know how long. Jared Washburn is out with a flu, and Bartolo Colon has a strained right shoulder. Some say tonights game is going to be a big deciding factor.
