just another thug
The Indians play the A's tonight, should be interesting since they are both in contention for the AL Wild Card. Hopefully my Indians can pull it out.
Captain Keyes
Maybe this thread will stay active, unlike the other one that died when Eric was rebanned. I haven't really been paying attention to the AL Wild Card race, so I didn't realize Cleveland was doing so hot until just now. The NL WC race will also be a close one, and it's really hard to pick a favorite right now. The Astros don't have the bats (which isn't helped by the fact that Ensberg is injured), and the Phillies and Marlins are always beating up on each other. D Jones
I'm not the greatest Baseball guy, but can someone please explain why Yankee's aren't in the lead in American League? They picked up Big Unit, and still have a lot of talent, too much to write. So please explain .
darthYENIK
There large egos are getting in the way. That and they suck this season. EDIT: ok not suck, but they aren't winning as much as boston.
GTA3Rockstar
I just got a glimpse of Barry Bonds and was inches from a homerun... Though, when I seen him, did his jersey say Gigiants??? I only got a glimpse but thats what it looked like it said, so I'm not too sure... While I was typing this I found this on espn So I was right
woodprior383
His jersey said Gigantes. I think it's spanish for Giants. Bonds looked really good considering this is his first start since last September. He made great contact on the ball.
Captain Keyes
So was the entire team wearing "Gigantes" jerseys to appeal to the hispanic fans last night, or did Barry have a screw up in the locker room?
D Jones
I can't tell myself. But if that was a mess, up. Lol. I thought Barry Bonds retired?
Cuse510
So was the entire team wearing "Gigantes" jerseys to appeal to the hispanic fans last night, or did Barry have a screw up in the locker room? I think I remember the Giants wearing "Gigantes" unis last year also. Must be "hispanic appreciation night" or something.
woodprior383
I thought Barry Bonds retired? lol @ joo. He just hasn't played this year because he has had 3 knee surgeries since January 31.
GTA3Rockstar
Yeah Gigantes is spanish for Giants... Retired? What are you think DJ, if you don't know the story don't say it...
darthYENIK
Yeah, knee surgery. NOT letting the heat from the whole steriod debacle cool down.
D Jones
Yeah Gigantes is spanish for Giants... Retired? What are you think DJ, if you don't know the story don't say it... Sorry, I heard Steroids make your penis shrivle and make you more agile. But, he denies that. Plus, when he was in college, wasn't he about 185 lbs? I could beat his scrawny ass when he was in college, but now he gained about 200 lbs and is now a monster. Damn 'roid user.
woodprior383
I had an allergic reaction to something on Sunday so we went to the Doctor's office yesterday. The doc prescribed me steroids to get rid of the bumps on my back. It's just a good thing I'm not in any sports.
KoLSPD2
*crosses fingers for tomorrow's game, with a BAD feeling Morris is going to blow the game to crap again, making him 4-6 since the All-Star break* Do me a favor and try to win against the only team we can (barely) beat, the Cubs. Bonds struck out badly yesterday, and pinch hitting for one reliever for the Giants (don't know his name), which led to many boo. Almost as worse as the Cardinals losing to the f*cking Pirates. just another thug
So the Indians could win the central. They are slowly creeping up on the thought to be untouchable White Sox. Maybe this team can string something together in the post season.
Cuse510
This is sort of random, but I just watched "The top 5 reasons you can't blame Steve Bartman for the Cubs' 2003 collapse" on ESPN. I'm not even lying, I had tears in my eyes seeing some of those replays. I can't believe that after almost two full years, people like me still can't get over it That actually ties in nicely with a current situation in Chicago, the White Sox. This has got to be one of the most amazing collapses in history. If they fail to make the playoffs, which is very possible, the suicide rate here will jump. I have to give the Indians credit though, they've played extremely well. But the Sox had a 15 GAME LEAD IN AUGUST!
darthYENIK
Yeah, sucks about the sox. My second favorite team. Bartolo Colon won his 20th strait game last night. Last time that was done on the Angels was during Nolan Ryan's Heyday in the 70's. Here comes the Cy young, Bart.

darthYENIK
Never have watched that crash, don't think I could. Anyway, Another big game for an Angels star pitcher last night. It was Francisco Rodriguez's 40th save of the season.

darthYENIK
sh*t, that sucks. FSN was out because of the hurricane, so I couldn't watch the game. We won though. EDIT: The Angels just clinched the AL west title for the second year in the row. Overall this has been the best season I have ever seen them play. I have high hopes for the Angels in the playoffs. gta_player5
Who are your picks for MVP? AL: Alex Rodriguez, why? because hes a gold glove third baseman, but also because he plays the field, David Ortiz is a DH, an MVP is supposed to be a overall well rounded player, Ortiz is not. NL: Andruw Jones, he has better number then Pujols for the most part, and also he is a gold glove Center fielder and because he carried the Braves to their 14th straight Division Title. darthYENIK
Yeah if a closing pitcher can get MVP then I bet a DH could, I don't agree though. AL: Course I'm gonna say Guerrero. But don't think it's gonna happen. Especially not two in a row. NL: Beats me. Jones I guess. Tonight's the first games of the playoffs. My dad is going to the Angels/Yankees game tonight. I might be going to the game tomorrow. Can't wait. EDIT: Oops. Meant if a closer can get the cy young. Captain Keyes
Don't know about the AL MVP, but I'm also going to have to go with Andruw Jones for NL. The Braves had so many injuries to their key veteran leaders but Jones stepped it up when his team needed him most. Looks like Boston got pasted today. Same with San Diego to some extent, but I don't think anyone's expecting a whole lot out of them anyway.
