I got a question about seats? I saw a post the other day (cant remember who posted it exactly) that seat dummies are limited to two but are mirrored, does the SA engine do this automatically coz i was making a AH-1w Cobra copter (for the hunter) and wanted to put a pilot and gunner seat upfront. Any ideas on how i should impliment it? oh and are vehicle col files embeded within the .dff models?

To your first question, i'm not sure. I've never modded anything, I rely on others to do that but to your last question, no the cols aren't embedded in the .dff or .txd files. It's in a seperate .dat file in the GTA SanAndreas/Data folder, it's called carcols.dat. Hope that helps a bit. wink.gif

nope that won't help at all. lol. Col files are Collision files, indeed embedded in the DFF for SA.

 

Seats? limited to One seat in that vehicle, I believe.

helicopters are limited to the same seat dummies as cars. the hunter only has ped_frontseat, he could probably add the ped_backseat dummy as well. yes the game automatically mirrors them too, if they're off-center. For example, seat dummies are positioned on the passeneger side of cars, then the game mirrors them over, to get the driver side positions.

thanks guys, im only starting to rebuild it might post it next week. Oh 1 more this is the last i promise... im using 3dsmax, my question is... do smoothing groups affect the ingame appearance? Coz i downloaded a few cars and they seem to look kinda flat, im not good w/ textures and thought i might just modify the smoothing groups.
